Tommi Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Sir Leon Pike Backstory Sir Leon Pike is a prominent English millionnaire anthropologist and archeologist. He has his own museum in England where every valuable artifacts he found during his extensive expeditions are displayed and still has lots of space left for new, unique collections. He is currently the curator of Gotham Museum of Arts and Sciences, the post once held by Margaret Pye. He was awarded this job by the mayor of Gotham as he was rich enough not to steal any artifacts and has the proper education to appreciate and respect the items. However, appreciating those items was not the reason why he transferred to Gotham from England (in fact, he thinks Gotham Museum's displays are trash). After Hush got his money stolen by Catwoman, he went to Pike (an Elliott family friend) and asked for help. Initially, Pike didn't like the idea of helping Hush for revenge on Bruce Wayne. Hush then gave Pike the idea that since he has collected every historic item in the world from every civilization why not procure the collectibles from Gotham. This piqued Pike's curiousity as Gotham is renowned all over the world for not just only crimes but also Batman and his arch-enemies. What's a more unique collection than Gotham's whole she-bang: Two-Face's coin, Joker's "Bang!" gun, Penguin's umbrella and of course, the piece de resistance, a preserved body of Batman. The only way to achieve this goal, of course, was to take over Gotham. He accepts Hush's offer on the agreement that Hush will make Batman suffer first before it is to be "preserved" and that Hush too will be part of Pike's museum once this is all over (Hush has a plan to counter this but that's a different story). So, off they went to Gotham and make their first move: befriend Bruce Wayne and make him trust Pike. Hush has recently procured a sample of Bane's venom. Pike is contemplating on what he's going to do with it. On display above his fire place are an Aztec warrior's golden spear, Tutankhamun's scepter, and Titanic's wheel. Side Notes He grows his beard long because he believes that it represents his lion-like nature, as his name suggests but his mane is not really complete as he is bald. The character was created after I read Heart of Hush and wondered what happened to Hush afterwards. I was also inspired by what Lex Luthor is to Superman; a rich, non-fighting, evil mastermind.
