LuxorV Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Let me introduce some purist custom figs I created from the Iron Man films universe. Some of these already appeared in my recent MOC Stark Workshop. Let's start off with Tony Stark: As you see I used the Capt. Jack Sparrow head to give him shadows under the eyes, as portrayed at the beginning of Iron Man 2. Again, Tony Stark, this time in his boxer outfit: From the same scene, Happy Hogan, also in boxer outfit: I hope you like the choice of face, which seemed to fit him pretty well. The Atlantis shark-man torso was the best I could find to simulate his sweat stained T-shirt. Again from the same part of the film, the first introduction of Natasha Romanov a.k.a. Black Widow: I prefer this head to the one used by TLG in the Avengers line, as that one makes her look way too old (as already discussed ad libitum in this 6 months by AFOLs around the world). Finally, also from Iron Man 2, Pepper Pots, as seen at the beginning of the film: I think the hair choice works quite well, even if the ponytail should be a bit longer. As a sort of bonus, from the first Iron Man, Yinsen: I know the face makes him look grimier than usual, but I think it works nonetheless. More (James 'Rhodey' Rhodes, Agent Coulson and some others) may come in the more or less near future. Comments and criticisms are welcome. Quote
Emperor Krulos Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Those work great. Especially Natasha and Tony are very recognizable. My only gripe would be the use of the Atlantis Shark Warrior torso as shirt for Happy. I don't know why but to me it looks like he has man boobs. I find it difficult using those Atlantis Warriors with regular figs. Though, Atlantis Shark Warrior's legs make great stone washed jeans. Quote
purpleparadox Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 AWESOME minifigs LuxorV! You did a great job creating these characters completely purist. My favourites are Yinsen and Tony Stark. Tony's recognizable in an instant. That's an interesting choice on Happy Hogan to make a sweat-stained shirt. You've given me a reminder to think outside the box! Now I want to try some things myself...maybe Whiplash? Anyway, awesome job. Quote
Bricktooth Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 (edited) Great purist minifigs LuxorV! Even though it has been a long time I've seen the Iron Man films, the characters are instantly recognizable. That head works great for Black Widow, too bad I don't have it. Happy Hogan doesn't look too happy . My personal favorite is the Yinsen minifig. Which fig does it's torso come from? Edited June 30, 2012 by Bricktooth Quote

Indeed, Happy is the weak spot in this batch. The alternative for him would have been using a plain white or light grey torso; or making a decal, but then it wouldn't have been purist any more. I chose to recreate Happy's expression of when he was beaten by Natasha, so he's not happy at all! The torso I used for Yinsen is that of Arthur Weasley in the HP set 4840 The Burrow. Quote
kotaco Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Asa huge iron man fanboy, I love the ideas you have given me, the Jack Sparrow head works great for RDJ/ Stark and the rest all look great too! Nice work. Quote
