Modulex Guy Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) Hello all, I just finished up my latest build. It is a life size replica of a 1967 Gibson Flying V from the popular anime series FLCL! It is 100% LEGO, unglued, and strong enough to wear and hold by the neck! It is as strong as my blue Rickenbacker 4001 bass which some of you know was swung through Beth Weiss' Brickology LEGO tower at this past Brickworld with no damage! On to the pics! purpleparadox Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Woah! Awesome MOCs. They seem accurate down to the finest detail, and I'm quite impressed that they're life-sized. Approximately how much did each guitar cost to build? And how long did it take you? Quote
Vindicare Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Nice guitar! I love me some FLCL, funny show. Great job, some really nice details. Quote
Modulex Guy Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 Woah! Awesome MOCs. They seem accurate down to the finest detail, and I'm quite impressed that they're life-sized. Approximately how much did each guitar cost to build? And how long did it take you? I don't have an idea of cost since most of the bricks I already had in my bins and such. It was a about a 30 total hour build for the V from concept to the final model. It's about the same for the 4001. Quote
fluffybunny Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Great MOC!, love the detail work especially the "inlays" on the fret board also like the use of real guitar strings. Great Job! This reminded me, I need to post the picture of me holding your bass, thanks again for that! Quote
Big Cam Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 It looks great! I was impressed with your guitar at BW, it matches your tag as well. Nice work, now you need a modules sized one. Quote
Amset-Rah Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Both the AFOL and guitarist side of me are screaming with delight over this. Excellent work! Sure the sides of the body might be a little clunky, but all the same, great job! Quote
