Petzi Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Hi team, I'm looking for a solution in building side handrails for a train. Seems that the easiest would be to use classic hose, like every one (see 7750 for instance). But on BL, there are only a few available, and thus prices are high. Is this sometimes available from S@H, or does it have another name on BL ? Cheers, Petzi Quote

You could try Ebay and look for the pneumatic hose on there. It seems to come in various lengths. Quote
Multiverse Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Not that it's particularly relevant, but I find it wonderful, so I thought I'd mention it: I thought the title said Horse, and continued thinking so until the 'handrails for a train' thing caused wrinkling of my eyebrows. Quote
SavaTheAggie Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Why use pneumatic hose? Use flex tubing instead for handrails, as was done on the Emerald Night and the BNSF. Hose, Rigid 3mm. Its much more plentiful and cheap. Plus a minifig can grasp it. --Tony Quote
Duq Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 What most people use for handrails is not classic rubber hose like in 7750 but 'Hose, rigid, 3mm'. There's a lot available on Bricklink in various colours: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=hose%20rigid This rigid hose or tube fits nicely in clips because it's the same size as minifig tools. The classic hose you mentioned is thicker and much harder to fit. On my Class 6400 I've use this tube for the handrails, and used minifig hands to connect the pieces: 6400 driver by Duq, on Flickr Quote
