May the Light shine upon you. It is good to see you again Cronk, and it's a pleasure to meet you, Man from the North and Lady of the Elven race. I can see that you all have much routine from different quests and that you are all well prepared, I appreciate that. Your mission might seem trivial but I assure you, it has great importance and needs to be handled with subtlety and carefulness. I have here a letter that is to be delivered to the priestess of the House of Ennoc's Children, a convent for novices training to become clerics in the Order. The convent is located a few miles north of Bric'lin trading post here on the island of Uland. The priestess name is Mandrea Melifano and it is of greatest importance that the letter does reach her and no one else. That is your main mission. Once the letter is delivered you might be needed for assistance at the convent, but that depends on the situation there and I can't give you any further details about that. When you are finished at the convent, you may return here to claim your reward. Here is the letter, who will take responsibility of carrying it? Do you have any questions, heroes?" Letter to priestess Mandra Melifano. QM note: Please check your stats to see if they are OK.
Masked Builder Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Alexis listens carefully, and takes the letter. "Unless you guys have any objections, I'll keep the letter." OoC: Dang, yep you've got the gold number right. And my power is 36 now.
Scorpiox Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 "I am honoured to serve you and your order, your ladyship. I will try to complete this task to the best of my ability, and I know that I can trust my friends to do the same. My thanks to you. I suggest that Cronk here should be the one to carry this letter, as he is well-known to your organisation." Haldor checks his bag for all the supplies that he may need, and waits for the others to speak. Stats are good.
Masked Builder Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Alexis thinks about it for a moment. "That seems reasonable to me Haldor. Cronk?"
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Stats are good for me as well. Hello again, High Priestess. It would be Cronk's honor to carry the letter. Cronk would like to ask what the situation is like at House that would require the help of heroes? Not that Cronk minds. Cronk likes helping.
Etzel Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 Stats are good for me as well. Hello again, High Priestess. It would be Cronk's honor to carry the letter. Cronk would like to ask what the situation is like at House that would require the help of heroes? Not that Cronk minds. Cronk likes helping. "There is no situation at the House at the moment, at least not to my knowledge. But there might be after you have delivered the letter, it all depends on how priestess Mandrea choses to handle the information in it. I suppose you might be called upon for an escort mission or something similar, but I can't be sure. Good luck on your journey!" Cronk (Played by CorneliusMurdock) Level 24 Paladin *Blessed* Power: 36 Defense: 14 Health: 44/44 Ether: 27/27 Gold: 15 Equipment:Zoot's Bane (Suitable only for Cronk; WP: 12, Light), Ennoc's Blessing (Shield, SP: 8), Elaborate Helmet (SP: 2), Paladin's Armour (Suitable for Paladins, +4 SP, +2 Max Ether), Ennoc's Gratitude (Artifact, Accessory, User Perma-Blessed, Requires Light Weapon) Inventory: Twin Broadswords (WP:20, user can attacks 2 enemies in the same turn, user is unable to use a shield), Beast Skewer (Lance; WP: 12), Sword of Bashing (Longsword; WP:5), Blacksmith Writ, Bedroll, Holy Bomb, Phoenix Essence, Letter to priestess Mandrea Melifano Are the heroes ready to start their journey or do you have any other questions?
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Are contents of letter to be secret from party? Cronk is ready to leave when other friends are.
Etzel Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 Are contents of letter to be secret from party? Cronk is ready to leave when other friends are. "Yes it is, its content concerns the Paladin Order only. The letter must be delivered to Mandrea with the seal unbroken."
Scorpiox Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 "Well then. I think we're ready to be heading off now. We won't fail you, your ladyship, you can bet on that." Haldor turns to leave the forecourt of the temple with the others, keeping a close eye on the various priests and knights hanging around. After his last quest, the Nord couldn't help but feel wary of followers of Ennoc, having seen the very worst of the great god's minions all too close.
Etzel Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 The party sets out on their journey to the House of Ennoc's Children. The highway from Eubric to Bric'lin trading post is the most trafficked road on Uland and the heroes meet several other travelers. They are making good pace and are more than two thirds on their way when the sun sets and it's time to turn in for the night. Nothing happens during the night and the heroes can continue the next morning feeling well rested. Soon they are approaching the outskirts of Bric'lin and the amount of travelers and especially traders of all kind is increasing. Amongst others, they meet an orc slave caravan led by a familiar man from the Shadeaux family. How does the party feel about this? Why is slavery such an important part of the Eubric culture? For how long will the orcs be punished for the great war? What can be done to this situation, if there should be something done at all? These are questions the heroes can discuss during the rest of their trip up to the House of Ennoc, they will reach their destination later this day.
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Cronk think that disgusting. Cronk doesn't care what beings are slaves. It's wrong.
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Friends not very chatty today. Is something wrong?
Etzel Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 The other heroes neither agree or disagree with Cronk and the rest of the journey is conducted in awkward silence... "..." In the afternoon they have passed Bric'lin and reached a fork in the road were a road sign points the left way for "House of Ennoc's Children". Just another half an hour walk down that way, just after climbing up a ridge, they get a nice view over the convent: Coming up on the south-west corner the heroes reaches the entrance to the convent. A tall stone is erected outside it and underneath the tree to the left stands a big and powerful horse, obviously a knight's steed. What do the heroes wish to do next?
Masked Builder Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 As the heroes encounter the slaves, Alexis shakes her head, and says, mostly to herself. "Slavery is wrong, plain wrong. Humans always think they're the better race." Alexis speaks with the steed. [Hello Sir Horse, could you tell us who lives here?]
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Hmm... Cronk wonders if paladins are visiting. Cronk hopes Lord Prejudice isn't here.
Etzel Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 [Greetings she-elf. No, I do not know who lives here, but I think my human might know. We travel here quite often and he meets with other humans here. But I just wait outside until he is done, it's good grass here. Do you want some?]
Masked Builder Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 [Ah, okay. No I'll pass on the grass thanks. Do you know the name of your human? And where do you come from?] "Would someone look at that stone sticking up from the ground?"
Etzel Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 [His name is Sir Mandric Melifano. I was born on a small farm not far from a town called R'kilf, but now I usually live in a large stable just outside the walls Eubric when we are not traveling throughout the country, which we do most of the time. Just now we are on our way back to Eubric after been up north fighting bandits.]
Masked Builder Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 [Alright, thank you very much Sir horse. You've been most helpful.] She pats him on the neck and then relates what she learned with her fellow heroes.
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Cronk will examine stone more closely. Then Cronk suggests party should knock. Message won't deliver self.
Etzel Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 The stone has an inscription that says: House of Ennoc's Children Light in heart and Light in mind, brings knowledge of every kind
Masked Builder Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 "I agree Cronk, I'll knock." Alexis walks up to the door and raps three times.
Etzel Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 Alexis knocks on the door and after a while it opens and a young girl dressed in dark blue looks out. "Yes?"
Masked Builder Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 "Hello, we'd like to see Priestess Mandrea Melifano, do you know where she is?"
Scorpiox Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 "Hello there, young lady. We are here on official buisness, miss, so would you be so kind as to let us see the Priestess?" Haldor tapped his foot on the cobbles, whilst looking around amiably. He turned back to his friends. "I apologise for my silence, comrades, I just have a lot on my mind right now."
