*Updated with new pics* Custom Davey Jones fig

Ok well as i see others have been posting their davey jones figs i thought it time i shared mine with you so here goes:

Ok heres a first shot of the fig, as you can see the headpiece is slotted over a figs head. This is then topped off with a custom hat, usually i would smooth a custom hat out but as hes from the ocean depths i left it rough to give it that ocean feel.

Here we have a simple side view of the fig this gives you a better look at his crab hand, im not to happy with the hand so ill have to change that......... Though this hand did give me an idea how to make custom hand for a SB Mr Krabbs.

Now here you can see the other side of the fig and its tentecal (not sure ive spelt that right lol) hand, you can also see its new leg.

And lastly heres a slighty closer view from the top of the fig, this shows a closer look also at his eyes which is a face decal. The colours still off so ill have to change that to look closer to the paint finish.

So thats it for now, ill take some better pics in a few days one of the back to show the squid body also. Ive sculpted a few of his crewmen so ill post them to.

So any comments suggestions on how to improve it?

Not too happy with the hand? X-O That's the best part of the fig! I think I saw this on BS yesterday, I shoulda looked at the name of the account :-P This is a real quality fig, can't wait to see more

Thanks both of you, SW4J i like the hand dont get me wrong but i feel theirs room for inprovement and it wont of been mine on BS as i only uploaded mine this afternoon.

I do have a couple of questions:

What kind if clay do you use?

Why is it yellow in the split of the hat?

I think he has 1 long hand tentacle. The other 2? are not much longer than his actual fingers might have been.

Well the yellow is there because i based it on the toy replica that i first found a pic of, i shall recolour the final version though it does mean it shows up better in these dark pics.

Not sure about the hand either, when i get time ill have alook at the film to be sure.

As for clay thats a secret i shall never tell.............

Actully i use milliput its great for molding and drys rock hard so its very difficult to break.

Hm, interesting. What about Apoxie Sculpt? I've heard good things about it, would that work as well?

Never used it SW4J so i couldnt say mate.

Ghoul it appears you are right about the hand so thats being changed as i type along with the hat.

Heavens to betsy! This has to be truly the best Davy Jones I've seen out there thus far! I really like how you did the octopus tentacles as well as the hands. It's spot on! Even the head! Awesome work, Vader! It's really amazing to witness such perfection with that putty! (I, for one, could never do this) :-D

If you don't mind me asking, can good ol' Davy move his arms and legs? Just kinda curious as to how much he can move! X-D

KMOI the arms can move quite far up the fig, ive just redone his tentacle hand and hat so when i get home ill take a few pics and post them..........ill also show you some of the crew that im working on.

As you can tell ive added a new face under the face mask, i think this makes him look more aggresive.

Simple side view, this also shows off his evil eye.

The back of davey, i havent smoothed davey out like must figs so that he looks like hes been on the ocean depths.

Now heres the first version of one of daveys henchmen, anyone know this guys name?? His head is sculpted onto a normal hairpiece, i shall give this fig a custom decal torso later on, oh and please ignore my fingerprint on his torso lol.

And lastly (for now) we have the 2 villains together.

Fantastic as always, but on Davey Jones, are you planning on putting his boot decal all the way around the leg, or just keep it up front?

I doubt if ill put the boot decal all the way around but i will be changing it for another as this ones the wrong way around as the buckle should be facing the other way X-D

That's very nice, although his beard is a bit too dark and the rest of his body looks a bit too colourful, his claw and leg are covered with seawead, barnacles and other sea things... His skin has the colour of paper with coffee on it...
