So much nonsense – no, make that complete and utter megablocks (gotta love this word blacklist here^^) – has been said about 21 Dec 2012, or 2012 in general: Maya calendar ending, end of the world, apocalypse, asteroids, Nibiru, ancient predictions, galactic alignment, rise of consciousness, solar system synchronization, dark rifts, photon clouds, increasing resonances, stargates, aliens returning, gods returning, messages from magnetic alien archangels, lots of bad jokes, and on and on and on – and not just for fun, which wouldn't be that bad, but pretending to be real and promoting false fear and false hopes as well as books and seminars... so many good reasons for a long facepalm:

Even the crazy scientist and the Aztec guy in the back agree...

(That being said, there are a few good jokes, too, and already some nice MOCs showing up for this building drive :) )

Finally! Something like this was bound to pop up, and I´ve got to say you´ve done a good job.

Sometimes one really wonders why people believe stuff like this. It´s as close to a logical impossibility as you can  possibly get.

Seriously, you´d think even the weirdest believers would have stopped after they found a longer-continuing calender recently.

Gee! That's really unfortunate, looks like none of the minifigs got what they wanted for the "End of the World" <vbg>.

All I want is a good celebration on 12.22,2012! Afterall, acording to this calendar this day only happens once every 394+ years, 5125+ years and every 25000+ years. No matter what doesn't happen it is a significant calendar day (like New Year's Day) only more seldom.

Happy New Baktun everybody!

Thanks!

Indeed, but this hype has long surpassed the simple end-of-calendar idea. And these believers haven't listened to reason on so many other accounts that an existing later calendar date won't help. After all, even when the date comes and goes - as has been seen on previous occasions for UFOs, gods, apocalypses, etc. - many believers react to such cognitive dissonances by moving even further away from reality, unfortunately.
