Kai NRG Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 After having barely survived the desert, our poor trader changed his camel for a couple of servants to help him along back home. Of course he opted not to go back the same way... unfortuantly the townspeople suggested the "swamp route"... and why am I writing this in third person? This area was not always swamp, long ago it was rocky fortress, and so the inhabitants built themselves an outlook on top of the tallest stone outcropping. I thought it was a bit humorous myself... My goal with this (if I had an unlimited or almost unlimited collection) would have been a 48x48 swamp covered with 1x1 trans-green tiles (like Ecc's) and with several rocks... but obviously I didn't make it! C&C are welcome! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Very cute scene, love the crocodile/alligator Nice rock pillar too Quote
SkaForHire Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I LOLed over the gator. Nice Duplo! I like the scene, keep up the great work -- lots of good story coming out of this. Quote
mrcp6d Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Hehe - the alligator cracked me up a bit. Plus I didn't know there were two greens in DUPLO. Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 He looks pretty cute for a killer monster though Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 21, 2012 Author Posted December 21, 2012 Thanks, guys! Glad you like the gator! He looks pretty cute for a killer monster though Yes, that is a problem... but maybe that means the trader will be able to get on his good side? The real reason for the Duplo gator rather than a LEGO one is the CCCX cross-catagory "Best use of Duplo" award... Quote
NiceMarmot Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Ha! Nicely done. Sort of reminds me of the scene in Disneyland's Jungle Cruise: Quote
Kristel Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 You've done a great job with the wooden tower. It looks fantastic. Oh, and cute crocodile too! I think I'd want to hug it rather than run away from it. Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 Ha! Nicely done. Sort of reminds me of the scene in Disneyland's Jungle Cruise: *snip* Thanks! If anything, I drew inspiration from the Lone Ranger trailer (my brother build something like that for his cowboys to play "King of the Mountain" on... and then I thought it would make a good Ill Advised Journey, so I tore it down and did it all over again). You've done a great job with the wooden tower. It looks fantastic. Oh, and cute crocodile too! I think I'd want to hug it rather than run away from it. Now I'm imagining the bottom guy going "Nice boy, good croc, ..." Thanks! Quote
