cmaddison Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 My entry for the Microscale Sci-Fi Contest. I've always loved the Iron Giant. Here's one of my favorite scenes. (yeah, who am I kidding...they're all my favorite scenes) Enjoy! -Chris Quote

Si-MOCs Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Great movie, great build I love how he's picking up the little tree. Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Great movie, great build I love how he's picking up the little tree. Hey that's my line !!! Really nice build, the giant is very well done and accurate (if I remember correctly). Quote
robuko Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Beautiful build. I was really excited by my WIP, until I saw this. I know it's very early, but I call winner. Great posing. Micro giant. Think about it. Beautiful. Quote
DraikNova Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Apart from the awesome robot, I think the trees and shrubbery are the best part here. Quote
cmaddison Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 Thanks all, glad you like it! -Chris Quote
LegoMyMamma Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Like I already said on Flickr -- great MOC! Also reminds me of how much we need a sequel (one of they very few movies which could use a sequel, instead of the 2nd & 3rd of some less-inspiring flicks, if you know what I mean), because I often wonder about those robot parts making their way back to each other via that signal on his head Best of luck in the contest! Emma Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 This is great! - it looks awesome and is immediately recognizable even for someone who has yet to see the movie (I really need to do that, I keep hearing how good it is.) Quote
RowiaBuilds Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I had never thought of anything like this, and I like how you made the trees. Quote
jimmynick Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Beautiful vignette, cmaddison! The Iron Giant looks so soulful, and the SNOT ground with different colours looks great as well. Quote
gedren_y Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Woah, a scene from Brad Bird's best non-CG movie. Classic. Quote
Debricker Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I love the iron giant, so i love this model Quote
Artanis I Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Excellent rendition, and the details are too. Well done! Quote

TheLegoDr Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I had a friend recently say she would rather watch Iron Giant than Iron Man... and now this MOC. Brilliantly done. I think you captured everything perfectly! Quote
cmaddison Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 Thanks to everyone; I'm elated that so many people share my love of this film. :) -Chris Quote
uberbricker Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 That is fantastic! I've seen this movie enough times to know that you've gotten pretty close with this and yet you've managed it using so few pieces, I'm very impressed! Quote
Debricker Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 "No this is a rock and this is a tree" Quote by Hogarth (main character of story) Quote
Brickington Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Very nice, going to be hard to compete! Quote
