TooMuchCaffeine Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 I used to run pubs for a living so I am firmly of the opinion that no village can be complete without its own cosy little pub. Therefore, here's my addition to the Winter Village: The Old Ship Inn. Inside, the pub has a bar downstairs, and a restaurant upstairs. The interior elements all slide out for easy play access... A lifetime's experience in the drinks trade has taught me two sure things. First, never trust a pub that doesn't have a brass footrail... And secondly, always (ALWAYS) offer the draymen a cup of coffee when they deliver your beer... Anyway, that's The Old Ship Inn. I hope you like it. Flick link Quote
eurotrash Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 It looks great! And you're absolutely right that "no village can be complete without its own cosy little pub" Good luck in the competition! Quote
Priovit70 Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Like it? I looove it!! Great work with the snot roof and with the interiors so full of details! This is really a great entry! Quote
Venunder Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Agreed..... But Lego will probably never produce a pub for the Winter Village. Can you produce a parts list and/or instruction guide for your pub? Quote
L@go Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Not too keen on the car - but man, that building is gorgeous, inside and out. The snow on the roof is perfect, much better than anything LEGO has done in the Winter Village series yet; the colour choices are very good and, not least, the interior is wonderful. Very well done. lightningtiger Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 I like the inn.....a more modern take on the one from the Medieval Village.....great work, good luck and Brick On 'TMC' while drinking mead. Quote
Darkblane Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) The slide out interior is a really great idea and very well executed. One of the problems I had with my entry last year was the visibility of the upper floor, so this year I chose to leave out an upper floor completely, but a slide out floor is the ideal compromise. TooMuchCaffeine Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 Thanks for the comment guys. Glad you like it. Quote
Hey Joe Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Really nice and thanks for sharing. Me and my big fingers like those slide out floors. The little truck is great but maybe needs some headlights? How about a horse-drawn beer wagon? Quote
Andy D Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Ireally like this. I also agree that the WV needs a pub. Good luck with the contest. Andy D Quote
snaillad Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Lovely build. I like the use of the round window plane for the back of the chair. Is it sturdy? Quote
LegoMyMamma Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 My favorite areas are the green roof with the snow drift shadowed by the chimney, snow drifts near the door, the brass footrail and the chairs Best of Luck to you! Quote
PsyKater Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Great. I love it. Especially the modular interior! Quote
kibosh Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Love how you did the snow on the roof. Great work. Quote
Commander Turtle Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I love the snow, it's very visceral and... you know, snowy! Quote
