BobThePom Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Hello! Here is my entry to the Micro Scale Sci-Fi Contest. It is an interpretation in LEGO of the famous book by John Windham, "The Day Of The Triffids". Massive man eating plants break out of their greenhouses and start rampaging through the city, the micro city that is! Here they are breaking out. An overview. Rampaging plants! Thanks for looking, good luck to all the other contestants! More pictures when public - (link coming) Bob Quote
davedude Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 nice!!! funny everyone is using the visors... Quote
BobThePom Posted January 15, 2013 Author Posted January 15, 2013 Everyone?? oh dear, I hope the judges don't deduct points for an overused piece usage! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Nice scene. It could have benefited with a nice clean background like cardboard to remove the distractions, but otherwise some great parts usage. Quote
davedude Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) oh i dont say over usage , just funny it was in the example and ive seen it in a couple entries now... Edited January 15, 2013 by davedude Quote
Teessider Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Great MOC. I like how you've used upside-down flower stem pieces for the smaller triffids. Quote
Si-MOCs Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 HEY! Nothing wrong with visors! It's a very Sci-Fiy piece! Really funny build, but it's a bit hard to see some of the details. ISC had some good ideas though. Quote
Artanis I Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Nice little street scene, I like how you've used the grill & tooth pieces. Are these the genetically modified ones or the ones from a meteor shower that can be killed with salt water? You've used a part I'm unfamiliar with for the big ones, my only guess is a lizard man costume tail? Quote
BobThePom Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 HEY! Nothing wrong with visors! It's a very Sci-Fiy piece! Really funny build, but it's a bit hard to see some of the details. ISC had some good ideas though. Argh I wish I hadn't dismantled it now, I probably could have gotten some better photos. Nice little street scene, I like how you've used the grill & tooth pieces. Are these the genetically modified ones or the ones from a meteor shower that can be killed with salt water? You've used a part I'm unfamiliar with for the big ones, my only guess is a lizard man costume tail? The genetically modified ones of course! I hadn't heard of the other sort? I only read the book! Yes it is the Lizard man tail, that was the piece that inspired this build! Quote
Artanis I Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Whoops, just spoiled the end of the 1950s movie version! Or was it fresh water?.. Quote
