commanderhawk Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 This is my entry for this contest, which consists of a man-made island used to house armed forces during the event of an invasion. It has all the essential tools needed for a successful invasion, from housing multitudes of tanks to housing a large mech more than 10x the size of said tanks. Ships (both space and sea) can approach these islands to refuel and rearm. Bob De Quatre Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Really nice entry with lots of details! The tanks are really well done! Quote
Kristel Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Wow. The entries just keep getting better and better. The thing that stands out for me with this one is how everything looks so well integrated. And the micro-mech is adorable! Well done. Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Just looked at your Flickr account, and I must say you are a microscale master! Quote
Wedge09 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Great work with this Commander  I love the color scheme and all the detail in this Micro MOC Quote Bob De Quatre, you made a great work with microscale Quote
The Player Nº1 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 The MOC is incredible, but the tanks are a genius detail! Quote
DraikNova Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Just. Ridiculously. Awesome. I think the two highlights of this build are the "command tower" and the little conveyor belt beside it. Quote

The entries just keep getting better and better. The thing that stands out for me with this one is how everything looks so well integrated. And the micro-mech is adorable! Well done. Thanks! The hardest part for me was making everything seem integrated, especially at this scale. Great work with this Commander  I love the color scheme and all the detail in this Micro MOC Quote Bob De Quatre, you made a great work with microscale Thank you for your kind compliments! Just. Ridiculously. Awesome. I think the two highlights of this build are the "command tower" and the little conveyor belt beside it. Thanks, I put extra work on the command tower as a matter of fact. I had many ideas for it but it wasn't unique enough. After experimenting with different combos I felt that what I have now is the best solution :) Quote
Si-MOCs Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Fantastic work. I think what really makes this work for me is how 'clean' this is. A lot of micros (mine included!) I try to pack as much as possible, and you have open space! So I love what you did. Great entry Quote
Biomanniax Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 oh wow...this is reaaaaaaaaally nice... love the tanks ;) Quote

It was a challenge honestly to find a good balance between when to pack and not to pack. I had plans to add fighter squads (using minifig hands as the fighters), but I held back as it was a bit too much, even at this scale. Sometimes less is more! oh wow...this is reaaaaaaaaally nice... love the tanks ;) Thank you! :) Quote
-zenn Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 wow, the spaceship reminds me of The Voyager, great work! Quote
