Anio Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 (edited) Hello, Here is my latest MOC. A 337 part crane truck with forklift. The features : hinged and rotating crane, outriggers, tiled bed for easy loading and unloading, controls, fonctionnal forklift. Some pics : The flickR gallery : And the Brickshelf gallery : http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=521512 The hardest part to design was the forklift because the wheels do not feet very well the Lego system IMO. It is not easy to deal with their dimensions. Hope you like. Edited January 28, 2013 by Anio Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I like the truck design 'Anio', except the crane looks either too wide on the boom arms or too thin on same. Apart from that I really like it......Brick On 'Anio' ! Quote
1974 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Wunderbar! But I think you should brace the crane arm with 1x4 + 1x4 + 1x2 plate. it'll look better/fatter and be more stable to play with (important for my mocs, maybe not for yours) I'm not sure I follow you on the forklift? Looks wonderfull and stable to boot All VERY nice, I'll have to moc it as my son screams 'buy buy'!! Also, exellent photos! And a petpeeve of mine - I do not like those those sidemirrors that adorn every new LEGO truck. Just too big, imho Lastly, why is there a telephone on top of that .. 'thing' ? (Something I hear from my kid everytime I try to use 6190 in a moc ) Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Very nice work indeed, Anio! I really like the look of the truck, as well. I guess these onboard lift arms are quite popular at the moment Quote
hush Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Some nice work there sir, very nice indeed Quote
Anio Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 (edited) I like the truck design 'Anio', except the crane looks either too wide on the boom arms or too thin on same. Wunderbar! But I think you should brace the crane arm with 1x4 + 1x4 + 1x2 plate. it'll look better/fatter and be more stable to play with (important for my mocs, maybe not for yours) I think it is better with a 2 stud wide arm. It indeed needs to be visually bigger than the outriggers. Moreover, with 1 stud wide, the hinges will not have enough clutch power. And some part do not enable to make the build in 1 stud wide (for example, the 2x2 thin round part on each section) I'm not sure I follow you on the forklift? What do you mean ? Lastly, why is there a telephone on top of that .. 'thing' ? That's just a greeble. The thing is supposed to be a small numerical control machine. Edited January 29, 2013 by Anio Quote
