Rishab N Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Maybe we should start a poll on who's happy or not with this years sets :) I can't understand why they didn't motorise the turret! There seems to be mixed reactions to the 2013 sets What are your opinions? Quote
Porty Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 42000-OUTSTANDING 42001-Indifferent 42002-Fine 42004-Fine 42005-Meh, don't like it all that much 42006-Fine 42007-Price per piece is awful, but I love the wheels and the new "mini panels" 42008-AWESOME, Love how they did the new green color scheme and pneumatics but I'll pass cause all I want is the green and I need to keep my green 42009-How many crane trucks have they done? 100? Please do something different, but as a parts pack its awesome. I love the rerelease of 8421 as well as the rerelease of the yellow 5x11's 42010-Pretty Cool 42011-Hate the color not the set If this counts, 31313- Out of this world! Quote
jorgeopesi Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Of course, a few new pieces for me and great sets to attract people, just what needs to happen year after year for the technic stay alive. Quote
Technic Gearhead Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Absolutely! The lineup is pretty solid all things considered, IMO of course. Quote
Kierna Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 As a motorcyclist and the a moc motorcycle builder, I can tell you that the 42007 is a good model of a motorcycle, and that they chose a speedway bike as the B model is wicked Quote
davidmull Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 42004 nice parts for size.( needed the bucket :) ) 42006 love it and bought it,the claw is really well done.( best ever 1h set) 42008 also love it and the mix of la,s and pneumatics are nice. 42009 I'm not sure really,I look forward so much every year to the main model, but for the first time in a few years I'm not wowed (yet) 42000 not into technic cars. As already said the cranes been done and 8421 is a beautiful set already! Do we really need an other. 8258,8043,8110 all great years for flagships in recent years. Quote
Paul B Technic Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 They all look okay but nothing really jumps out at me. 42000 is way over priced for what it is, seeing the local price ($159AUS) means I might not even get it. 42008 is about the pick for me but it still is not something I am desperate to get. Brickend Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) A thread which is basically discussing the new releases? Do we need another one of those? Edited February 1, 2013 by Brickend Quote
davidmull Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 A thread which is basically discussing the new releases? Do we need another one of those? Maybe ur rite, too many threads. Quote
Rishab N Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 Maybe ur rite, too many threads. I agree now that i think abot it there are too many Sorry for adding another useless one Quote
allanp Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 42000 is great, the motorbike looks great, the rest is not so good. One set is pneumatic which is great but it also means paying money for LAs which I don't want at all, so overall, no. But yeah, we already have two threads to keep checking for 2013 sets, should probably abandon this one. Quote
Paul202 Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I think the 2012 sets were better, 2013 has a couple good sets but on average 2012 was better. I might just buy the new pieces off of Bricklink. Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 IMHO, 2013 is shaping up to be one of the best Technic years in a long time. Aside from the racers, every single Technic set being released for 2013 is one that I'd like to have. 2012 only had a couple of nice sets that I felt was worth buying (log truck and helicopter). 2011 was a pretty good year too. So, yup, I'm happy with the 2013 models. Quote
Lipko Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I'm turned on by the 42009. I've never hear a crane-truck, this seems pretty good looking to me. Quote

Anio Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I will create a fourth thread to discuss about the utility/purpose of the 3 other threads. Does anyone has an idea of what could be the fifth thread ? Quote
efferman Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) Does anyone has an idea of what could be the fifth thread ? a inventory of the four threads? i can not understand why so much threads are open to the same theme. sure, a question on the 15th page will not take a signifikant amount of answers. but does not everyone tells his opinion about the 2013 sets, in the threads which are allready posted? Edited February 1, 2013 by efferman Quote
Erik Leppen Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 i can not understand why so much threads are open to the same theme. Maybe because the theme lives? No need to ridicule the fact a new thread has been made to try to separate the opinions from the facts/news. Anyhow. I think the F1 car is great, the tow truck is great, and the crane is great. I'd love to have all three. That hasn't happened in a while. 2013 seems to be an awesome year for Technic. Quote
Interceptor Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 IMHO, the crane truck is good (I like 8421 still better for pneumatics and compact aesthetics, but of course this can be changed when 42009 will be in my hands). The service truck is great for using pneumatics (compressor) and LAs at the same time, it is one of the best part packs I've ever seen in a Technic model. And I believe the winner model ("The Boss") will be also great, as I heard they work hard on it. They will get my money. Quote
Lauris Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I guess this is the thread to say express your feelings. Maybe not to discuss tastes. So my opinion on 2013 is: 42000 - want for good discount 42001 - might get as a gift 42002 - might get as a gift 42003 - if this is the BOSS, I will get it, should be awesome and I wasn't very happy with 9398 when I had a chance to drive with it (and I don't like the looks either) 42004 - need one for the bucket to implement in Ultimate 8043 + other good parts for good price. Hope to get as gift 42005 - probably will be not buying 42006 - would love to have, but as my wallet is not unlimited... Seems a very well designed set. 42007 - might get two of them if for discount and if funds will allow, for orange panels, tires and shock absorbers. 42008 - must have, colour, pneumatics, PF... awesome set 42009 - must have, it is large, so it should be good building experience and hopefully functions well. 42010 - might get as a gift 42011 - might get as a gift Quote
Pat-Ard Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I'll go with 42008 and 42009. Already ordered three of 42007 for parts only... Quote

For €24. Jurgen u should be proud, this ultimate 8043 is a big hit this year :) The more I think about it 42008 tops it for me :) Edited February 1, 2013 by davidmull Quote
mobi Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Already bought 42006. Looking forward for 42008 & 42009. Other sets don't interest me. Quote
midengineaddict Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) I didn't have the chance to get a 8421 so I'm happy that Lego release a new crane because they will probably will be less expensive than the rare used 8421 sets Edited February 1, 2013 by midengineaddict Quote
