Tips on building a longish ramp

I am building an island train station platform that's 4 bricks plus 1 plate off the ground.

Its 16-wide but with 1 stud of plate overhang (i.e. the 4-brick-high wall is 14 studs wide)

Does anyone have any ideas how I can build a ramp down from the platform to the ground? (or rather to track level where it will then have level crossings crossing both runs of track)

I considered some plates placed at an angle but I dont know of a way to affix them at the right angle.

The whole thing is being built in Light Bley if that matters.

You could use some hinges to get any angle you want. I prefer this hinge type as opposed to the newer click-type when building custom slopes. Since the older ones are level, apart from the studs, it allows for minimal gap. And since they will be underneath, you shouldn't really notice the older gray. I hope this is some help

I tried with the finger hinge but couldn't get things to line up properly (i.e. go up enough that it matches with the 4 bricks + 1 plate of my platform whilst going out enough to be at a suitable angle whilst still being stuck to the baseplate properly)

The ramp made out of slopes is nice but I dont have enough slopes in the right colors plus I need studs to stick things to so slopes wont work.

Interesting design, that might work if I can find enough of those hinge parts (I forget how many I have)

The principle will work with any type of hinge. Just a bit of trial and error to find a combination that gives you the length and angle that you want.

In my main station I have used slopes at one end, although it is not much of a gradient as they are already going from a raised platform that the station is built onto. At the other end which goes to the ground I have used steps, but then again this is also fenced off just for the use of station staff, but I guess steps would work.for any people. Having said that any of the hinge designs are good, it depends on what type of slope you are looking for and what angle you are happy with. Also are you worried about having a gap under the platform that is visible? For me that was the main reason i did not go down that route, but a lot will depend on you look you want and what the rest of the station looks like.

Thanks for the advice, I ended up with something based loosely on the 7720 design having found 3 of the hinge plates :)
