DAY TWO

It's a peaceful morning.

8570755695_a868d4035f_z.jpg

All that remains of Li'l TrumpetKing is his gawdam hat, taking up space in the sandbox before the inevitable cats come to bury it up.

8571850582_a91df891a8_z.jpg

In the classroom, Mr. def greets his students. "Good morning class!"

"Good morning Mr. def!"

He looks across his flock. "Well, Li'l Trumpy Trump was Town. 100% Town. How do we feel about that?"

He pauses.

"So, were you able to solve the game last night? Did you win? Is everybody here?"

8570755653_67a17cb835_z.jpg

"Danny? Where is Li'l Danny and his uncomfortably long limbs? Li'l Danny? Where are you?"

8571850544_61edc22abd_z.jpg

Li'l Corny jumps at the chance to answer the teacher's question. "He's out there, playing on the swings, sir!"

8571850552_b7f0aed893_z.jpg

In a manner of speaking, it could be said that Li'l DannyLonglegs was playing, but more accurately, it would be said that he was lifelessly dangling.

8570755603_0c2f2da840_z.jpg

"Oh. Very interesting. Very, very interesting." He peers off into the distance. "Well, you'll be interested to know his alignment. Would you like to know?"

8571850496_4f5f7e8fa7_z.jpg

"Well, would you? C'mon, ask!"

A few timid voices peep, "Was he Town, sir?"

"NO! He was scum. Congratulations."

He takes a moment.

"Please do not forget to mercilessly taunt Li'l Peanuts today. It is the only way he'll learn."

Rules (deviations from the normal EB rules are struck-through)

1. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Town or the Scum. To win the game, the Town must kill off all the Scum, while the Scum needs to (knowingly) outnumber the Town. Third-party (neutral) characters have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles.

2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting will be done in the following format; Vote: Player. Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format;Unvote: Player. No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. The player with the most votes will be lynched. In the case of a tie, the mayor will decide the lynch, through their vote, or by PM if necessary. Voting is mandatory. Failure to vote will incur a vote penalty the following game day.

2.5. A mayor will be elected in the first 24 hours of the game day one. Voting for the mayor will be done in the following format:Mayor: Player. Unvoting for the mayor will not be allowed. One may vote for themselves. In the case of a tie, the first person to achieve that number will win. In the case that the mayor loses their life, a new mayor will be elected in the first 24 hours of the following game day. The mayors single duty will be that of tiebreaker.

3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached after 72 hours. In the case of a unanimous vote, the day may end 24 hours early. After the day has been concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last 24 hours (or 48 hours if an emergency comes up). Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 20 hours of the night stage.

3.5. Players may not target the same player two nights in a row, and may not target themselves.

4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as any that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day.

5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the host via PM. That includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage.

5.5 Do not use the wording of the host to publicly back up your claims. Statements about the game made before the game started are fair game, but those made in game should not be considered either way in strategising.

6. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game.

7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on.

8. You may not edit your posts.

9. You must post in every day thread.

10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the host via PM. Do not spam the hosts's PM box.

11. Violation of the above rules may result in a 5 vote penalty vote penalty per every 4 living players against you, and death upon further offense.

Well, I gotta say, that was not a bad night :sweet:. Too bad about Trumpet, but maybe he got something out of what we now know was a sting?

And it's interesting to see that either the scum killer was blocked last night (and there's a lucky vig out there), or the scum killing team chose a bad target :sweet:

 Hopefully we will hear from the people he planned this sting with.

And it's interesting to see that either the scum killer was blocked last night (and there's a lucky vig out there), or the scum killing team chose a bad target :sweet:

Some of us mentioned yesterday that Li'l Danny wasn't speaking much, so it's possible that the vig chose to kill him for that very reason. I'm not sure what scum would have gained by targeting Danny instead of someone else.

It's quite possible, and I do agree Danny seems like an odd target for the scum kill. But it could be that they tried to target someone who would be less likely to be protected or watched.

That's a relief!!!

The likelyhood of the scum teams uniting is very little now that Trumpet turned town; I hope he managed to get a 'bite' on his ploy and that he was able to relay the information before the day ended!

It is very odd that there was only one kill last night but let's face it; if the Vig is an experienced player (which is a fair assumption to make) he/she would likely not have killed on night one (unless absolutely sure of the target's scuminess based on, let's say, a day investigation result) . IMO the more plausible explanation is that the scum targetted the 'wrong' person and ended up killing a recruiter; it is however possible, but less likely, that Danny was Vig-killed.

One scum down and with Trumpet not being scum, it seems less likely that the scum teams could have united.

That's quite a big relief, as it was quite worrying to think the two scum teams uniting on the first day. Hopefully, Li'l TK was able to get some info and was able to pass it to a townie he trusted. In the meantime while waiting for any possible night action result, I think it's worth looking for any clues on those who voted for Trumpet yesterday (order of voting, reason for voting vs. general behavior in-thread).

That's an interesting point, Li'l Pirate, but we all saw this post from Mr. def yesterday. Some might have missed it, but I think most know what it says:

Quote

The vanillas all received a variation of this:

you are a vanilla townie. You have no night action, but you are really important to the game! You may be inducted into the masonry, or you may be recruited by scum, so please take part from the start, since your role may expand, and your teams need you.

Ability players received this as a tag on their PMs

This is a mandatory ability, and if you fail to submit your night actions, you will receive a vote penalty the next day. The penalty will not be explained.

I expect you not to use this as a way to ingratiate yourself to the town (and have stated that I was sending you this in thread, so they should know not to), but in case things continue...

*Bolded for emphasis.

So if we do have a Vig, he took a shot at someone.

Which means that one kill action was blocked somehow last night. We don't know which side it was. We don't know if it was due to a Doctor protecting the correct person, a bulletproof vest, or a good Roleblock decision. But I can guarantee that a Town Vig did try and kill someone last night.

I wonder if the scum have the same, mandatory wording that Townies have. That might mean the scum didn't try and kill, but the Vig did. Hmmm...

Hrm, Mr. def's quote didn't come out the way I wanted it too. You guys (and gals) get the idea.

Oh, and I almost forgot the obligatory "It's great to be alive. Yayz! We got one of them scumzors!!!"

Posted

Well, it's good news that one scum is dead. I wonder if that's the result of Li'l Trumpetking's ploy, or just pure luck?

And I wonder what happened to the other kill. Maybe we got lucky and blocked their killer, maybe they got lucky and blocked ours.

Do we even have a blocker?

For the sake of clarity:

"This is a mandatory ability, and if you fail to submit your night actions, you will receive a vote penalty the next day."

This is not applicable to all ability players. For example, theoretically, a one-shot ability, as seen in EB Mafia I, would not be a mandatory ability. I didn't affix 'some' to that quote, since it really wouldn't have made it any clearer.

Only stated for the sake of saying that the message meant to stop players from using the PM wording to their advantage shouldn't be used to their advantage.

If this line of thought continues, a new rule will appear, and penalties will be given out. :sadnew:

I did miss that ... this is an interesting twist which as you pointed out brings the question "Is it mandatory for scum to kill".

We also know that there is no SK and that there are 5 scums, not 6 as it was stated yesterday:

(Can't quote from locked topic)

SNIP

There won't be a night zero, since there are fewer players, and the slaughter should be put off a day. The confirmation thread will go up before roles are assigned so that you can get into role-playing before you know which side you're on, and that the opening vignettes aren't affected by me knowing people's roles.

Key balance issues to note before going in; because of there being only 21 players instead of the 26 before:

-no SK (no third parties at all!)

-the scum start a player down

-the town starts three players down.

There will be six scum-recruitable townies randomly spread throughout the town, including power roles (statistically speaking, only two PR or so are likely to be recruitable). Recruited power roles will definitely lose their action, so as not to overpower the scum. Any scum-recruitable townie inducted into the masons will no longer be scum-recruitable.

SNIP

(End of quote)

That means that there are either 3 killers - 2 recruiters or 2 killers - 3 recruiters, the former being more likely. Danny's death brings the scum numbers to 4 ... which is pretty awesome if you ask me!

Now, based on what Walter pointed out, I believe it is more likely for the scum to have been blocked (probabilities 3/22) than the Vig to have been blocked (probability 1/22).

I would be curious to see who the town blocker blocked yesterday!

Posted

So would I, but I don't think there is any way he/she/it is going to come forward this early. I have a feeling the scum would like to know the identity of the blocker, assuming the town has one.

The town had one in EB Mafia I and there was no mention/allusions of/to the role being cut.

Maybe, just maybe, the blocker will talk to a trusted player and hopefully we will be handed a day II lynch on a silver platter .... wishful thinking!

Rule 5.5 added. Feel free to make up your own theories regarding the hosts notes as you like in private, but doing so in thread will garner you a penalty. Again, it goes against the spirit of the game; when they give a hint, the one side complains, when they mislead, the other side complains. I'm not having any of it. All that has been confirmed was confirmed before the game started. Do so in private at your own discretion, and no complaining afterward if you choose to do so.

That's assuming they didn't convert successfully last night...

Ha, I knew Li'l Danny's case against me was bull. Well, good for his death, then.

I don't think this was mentioned, but it's possible both the vig and scum targeted the same player. But if a blocker did block the right person (or they blocked the vig, perhaps) I hope they deal with it properly so that we may get a scum, or not inadvertently lose the vig.

Also not to mention that the recruiters might've been successful in their namesake last night. Hopefully not, but worst case scenario, we're equal numbers today than yesterday.

Congratulations to the Mayor, Li'l Corny, for not dying on the first not :sweet: !

A trusted player like you? :hmpf_bad: Or me?

Unless this theoretical town blocker was recruited into the Masonic block, there's no one to trust really except himself/herself/itself.

And let's not forget, there are plenty of other possibilities. The target could have attracted a doctor's protection, or the target could be a commuter. Yes, a roleblocker's testimony would be useful in leading a lynch, but that testimony could be flawed as well, and could lead to the lynch of townie.

Excellent. I actually did suspect Trumpetking was lying. At least his last action was to try and catch scum. But more importantly, we actually did get a scum, and something to help us try to get somewhere today by looking back at his comments on Day One.

Well, we caught a scumbo. Nice work, via... I assume. The numerous other possibilities suggested are also all pretty much possibly valid. Hell, in theory he could have been converted and killed all in one go. It's too bad that we don't know which of the two teams he was on- that could give us a more serious insight into what situation we're in.

There are a few people pinging my radar. Lil' Scouty has yet to really say anything useful. He's playing with the make fun of Lil' Nutty Nut (who deserves it, admittedly) but isn't doing much else in the form of thinking. Interestingly enough, he is saying that Danny's case against him was bull. Trying to clear himself because a scum accused him, but we know that's not a valid defense because the scum might not know each other. Yesterday when accused of not being helpful he said "why not go after someone else who doesn't speak... like Lil' The Boy Wonder." Enough deflecting suspicion, tell us what you think, Scouty!

And just because I'm gunning for him doesn't mean that I'm not looking at you other non-speakers! Everyone speak up, or you'll be next.

Blue Moon, you saw me standing alone,

Without a dream in my heart,

Without a love of my own,

Blue moon, you knew just what I was there for,

You heard me saying a prayer for,

Someone I could care for.
