  1. Each player will be given a character to play. That character will be aligned with either the Academy (town) or Black Mesa (scum). To win the game, the Academy must vote or kill off all Black Mesa, while Black Mesa needs to outnumber the Academy. Each character was given a sort of “bare-bones” character description as well. Feel free to expand on your character, to roleplay and truly become them.
  2. Each day will be played out in its own topic. During the day you will be able to vote to expel (lynch) a player. Voting must be done in the following format: Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format: Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to expel (lynch) a player, meaning that over half of the remaining players must vote for the same player to warrant a lynch.
  3. You must vote in every day thread.
  4. A game day will last for 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end after those 72 hours. After the day has concluded, a night will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of nighttime. You may not post about the game openly on Eurobricks during that time (but may continue to use private messages).
  5. The alignment of expelled (lynched) players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day.
  6. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage.
  7. You may not quote/post anything sent to you by another player via PM. If you wish to use information gained in this way, you must do so in your own words only.
  8. Do not play the game outside the day threads. Similarly, do not post out-of-character inside the day threads. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game.
  9. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players (living or dead). Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on.
  10. Don't edit your posts.
  11. You must post in every day thread.
  12. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5-vote penalty against you on your first offense, and the death of your character on your second offense.
  13. If at any time another player asks you to violate these rules (for example, asking you to give them your role PM), report this to the hosts immediately along with PM proof of the violation.

Been sitting here all evening waiting for the results...

Shawna was expected - Cameron wasn't! Now, he was expelled by the black fig - was that Shawna before her expulsion, or is there another killer out there?

With Cameron's loyalty now known though, time to do some serious thinking about today's voting. Any results from last night's activities to share?

Posted

Mary Jane, the scum kill looks like it happened after Shawna was expelled. I think there's a new killer on the scum team.

Now that Cameron is confirmed town  and Shawna is confirmed scum  , we can pay closer attention to what Adriano said yesterday:

There was a group of four like-minded people who pegged both Cameron and Shawna (and Andrew and Claire, and to a certain extent Burton and me) for scum. Did they agree to choose suspicions that way? Do they communicate with each other?

Adriano, I think it's time for us to know who was in each group in the survey and see what we can make from that.

Andrew, who did you investigate last night? I know you said on Day Four that the Night Three result cleared Jeanie (marked green above). Who else can we clear?

Brian, has the blocker told you whom he / she blocked last night? Can we clear someone from being the apparently new scum killer?

Posted

I guess that's the problem with everyone knowing who the town investigator is. I was unable to leave my room for a second night. Looks like we will be flying blind from here on out.

Posted

A possible theory:

Take a closer look at the "Claire & Co.", retrospectively we know the group consists of Cameron, Craig, Claire, Ricky and Andrew.

Craig was expelled first, and was Town, followed by Ricky for not following the rules and he was also Town.

Claire admitted she was talking to Craig via pm.

Did Craig find out something he shouldn't know? That's why he was expelled so early?

Then Cameron, Claire and Andrew started to point fingers at other students they thought were scum and were pretty sure about each one of them, and each one of them turned up Town.

Cameron was expelled and he turned up Town, so we are left with Claire and Andrew.

Did Cameron find out something that he shouldn't know?

---

Andrew: Could you kindly let us know who you tried to investigate? Even though you failed to do so? Saying that you couldn't leave the room isn't really helping us with our assignment.

This is Cave Johnson, founder and CEO of Aperture Laboratories, the best damn applied sciences

company on Earth, and in most of the multiverse. Except for Galron 4. Damn squid people really

know their science. As some of you may know, I'm dead. I know, you're saying to yourselves, "Cave,

if you're dead, how can you be talking to us now?" Science! Basically, when I kicked the bucket, the

lab boys sawed open my skull, scooped out my brains, put them in some kind of doohickey science

thing, attached a bunch of wires and sucked my brain into a computer. Other than that, everything

is perfectly normal here.

Now you may be wondering why I'm addressing you today. Damned if I know, just felt like it. You can

do things like that when you're the CEO and inside an all-seeing computer hell-bent on world

domination. Probably shouldn't have mentioned that last part, just disregard it.

Back to work, people. What? Kids? What the hell are we doing hiring kids? Sure, cheap labor, but

last time it damn near got us shut down. Well, whatever, if someone calls claiming to be from the

government, don't tell them anything.

That is all.

Shawna Spencer Spencer turning up scum is no surprise. Claiming serial killer is a common scum defence. Now we are making some progress we can start to look at voting patterns and see if they reveal anything.

Posted

Great. Finally we are successful. I was leaning at believing Shawna and being suspicious of Cameron. But my gut was wrong obviously. I am just glad that I wasn't the only one believing Shawna.

@Burton: We already looked at the voting patterns with the assumption that Shawna is Scum. Why did you participate then?

Shawna turned out scum wasn´t any surprise after the info we got on her and how as she acted in the end of yesterday. But that Cameron was loyal, I am little suprised

Is it that what Shawna meant:

Ahahahaha. You're all incompetent fools. You can't even see what is going on right in front of you. Even though I'll be expelled' date=' there are many more of us. You can't possibly come out of this on top. You've got a useless "investigator" but is he really who he says he is. An overzealous blocker who won't have a block target next time, a doctor who hasn't saved anyone yet. Even your one vigilante got expelled so quickly. We will triumph over you all! Long Live Science! That we were totally suspecting the wrong persons (cameron and andrew, and maybe claire(altough cameron didn´t trust claire anymore))

Some good ideas would be good now!

Quote from Mary yesterday:

The correct (I think) list of people who voted for 3 of the 4 lynched:

PsyKater / Adriano - Bud, Simone, John

LegoDad / Claire - all 4

Fred Daniel Yam / Shawna - Bud, Simone, John

Tamamono / Cameron - all 4

-obelix- / Chuckie - Bud, Simone, John

jamesn / Allison - Bud, Wendy, Simone

Clanure / Andrew - all 4

That's just looking at the votes the days they were expelled. If you look further, I see Burton voted for John twice plus Simone.

I think maybe both of you might be right, we should take a look at these people.

Brian, has the blocker told you whom he / she blocked last night? Can we clear someone from being the apparently new scum killer?

I did not receive any information from the "Blocker" today.

Mary Jane, the scum kill looks like it happened after Shawna was expelled. I think there's a new killer on the scum team.

Do we have official confirmation that the SK could not have been Shawna? What's the rules on handling "conflicting" activities like that? If she'd targeted Cameron, could her kill still have occurred with her getting expelled? I have to say though, I'm surprised to see a SK on Cameron. I'd think they wouldn't have wanted to expel him since there was already suspicion on him. Why not leave us confused longer? Take out someone who isn't suspected and leave us wondering longer about loyalties.

I guess that's the problem with everyone knowing who the town investigator is. I was unable to leave my room for a second night. Looks like we will be flying blind from here on out.

Well, unless we can manage to expel the Mesa's blocker and free you up.

Great. Finally we are successful. I was leaning at believing Shawna and being suspicious of Cameron. But my gut was wrong obviously. I am just glad that I wasn't the only one believing Shawna.

I'll give her credit, she did argue well at first in her claims to be neutral. She almost had me willing to vote for someone else, but I came back to the rules where there was NO mention of neutral and that convinced me that she was lying.

You've got a useless "investigator" but is he really who he says he is.

Shawna's grammar here is unclear. Did she mean "he really is who he says he is" meaning that he IS the investigator, or did she mean to say "is he really who he says he is?" meaning he's lying to us. I guess it really doesn't matter, since she's scum and we can't possibly trust her. Either way she could have been lying, and trying to deduce the truth from her statement would degenerate quickly into a WIFOM. (

I would like you to show me where this is stated, otherwise, you're just spewing megablocks.

Cameron showing up town makes me feel much better that I wasn't being played behind the scenes, though it sucks to lose him because he was a very good student. If the scum were able to shift their kill ability that is going to make this a pain to get them all out, especially if we are getting blocked every night now.

She was probably saying that Andrew is useless because they know who he is and can effectively block him every night now, rendering him useless.

Seeing as Shawna was expelled at the end of the day, she should not have been able to send in any night actions. It's possible now that the scum killer targeted the people who were protected two nights in a row and that the twice-blocking of Shawna was a coincidence. But Shawna apparently claimed Serial Killer to Adriano - why would she do that if she weren't covering herself as scum killer?

She was probably saying that Andrew is useless because they know who he is and can effectively block him every night now, rendering him useless.

Or that Andrew is lying to us. He's got an incorrect "scum" investigation, two "town" investigations and two not-investigations. But why would a scum rat out another scum?

Adriano, I think it's time for us to know who was in each group in the survey and see what we can make from that.

You've posted twice but haven't discussed any more your survey results from yesterday.

Her grammar is pretty clear to me, you even quoted the exact sentence as exampel. She questions if Andrew is the investigator. She is trying to create confusion as she as scum. Just like you.

Remember the pm you sent to everyone asking everyone of us to send you a list of people that we think are suspicious?

Once Andrew says who his targets were, then you would know if he puts his money where his mouth is.

I agree, Shawna *shouldn't* have been able to kill last night. But if she didn't, then there's a second killer out there and yet somehow there haven't been that many kills previous nights - and I doubt that there'd be that much matching of kill attempts and blocking/protection. If there is a second killer, I'd think we would have seen many more people gone along the way.

How do you figure Andrew ratted out scum? The only time someone was called a scum was the incorrect accusation. He could be calling the two "town" either legitimately (to cover himself) or wrongly (to protect scum).

So you don't think there is a Serial Killer at all?

Her grammar is pretty clear to me, you even quoted the exact sentence as exampel. She questions if Andrew is the investigator. She is trying to create confusion as she as scum. Just like you.

No, I don't think there's a Serial Killer. I go back to rule #1, posted at the beginning of every day by the teachers. According to that, EVERYONE was assigned town or scum. There's NO mention of neutral anywhere in the rules. If there hadn't been that in the rules, I might have voted to let her live another day. I'm glad we didn't!

I quoted her, but I added a question mark to it. That's the grammar unclear-ness. If she meant it as "is he?" then she left off the ? and so it's unclear. But really, it doesn't matter since she's confirmed scum and therefore untrustworthy.

Posted

That's not what I meant, though I admit my words could be interpreted that way. The "ratting out" I refer to is in Shawna's last comment, in which she claims Andrew is not what he seems. I think she was lying and trying to cause trouble.

That is, if Andrew were actually scum, Shawna wouldn't have said that, I think. But we get to WIFOM.

Gotcha - makes perfect sense now. I don't know how to take Shawna's comment. I personally don't trust Andrew yet - the only time we've gotten solid info from him was wrong - but trying to make a judgement on him based on Shawna is pretty useless.

Posted

Not sure what happened I tried posting this morning but my comment doesn't seem to have saved?

I'm glad that we finally made a right turn and got rid of the murderer/serial killer whatever. As i said yesterday when the killer confessed it was a no brainer. As Maryjane says it seems we should have read the rules better!

Not sure why we are debating what Shawna said?

I'm not sure who we are looking at any more I thought Tamano was nailed on scum? Sorry if this is a nothing post but I don't have anything concrete to go on.

Posted

Finally we got one! Shawna turning up Scum is a welcome turn of events especially considering that she was the first one I felt comfortable voting for, since the unfortunate voting for Bud on day one.

As for Shawna's last comment, I think it is pretty clear what she meant, as Claire said, they know who he is and are rendering him useless.

Ha! quality peek at the life of the faculty.

On a more serious note - I'm torn today. I still am suspicious of Andrew/Claire, but I was very surprised that Cameron turned out loyal since he was on that suspicion list too. At this point I honestly have no idea how I'm voting today yet.

We do not have many leads to go on. It is a shame we have run out of steam so quickly after catching Shawna. We should keep talking though. If we talk there is a higher chance of one of the scum slipping up.
