Toa_Of_Justice Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 The Triclotron is a 3-wheeled vehicle that demonstrates some building ideas. In particular, check out the front wheel mounts and the rear wheel! Click any image for a larger version. < The front wheels are able to tilt left and right independently. < Here's how I built the rear wheel. Unfortunately, LDD does not recognize this as a valid connection. I used a similarly-sized hub in the tire in order to position it properly. LXF File - Brickshelf Gallery -Toa Of Justice Quote
Superkalle Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Very cool model! And really innovative! Sure, all those part doesn't exist in Bright Green, and some of the connections may be a bit fragile, but it's a really nice concept. More like that please Quote
vynsane Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 The profile shot looks really sleek! I feel like the front wheel housings are a bit blocky from other angles, though. If you were able to reduce the amount of brick around each wheel I think it would improve the sleekness. Quote
Toa_Of_Justice Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 Thanks, Superkalle and vynsane! Very cool model! And really innovative! Sure, all those part doesn't exist in Bright Green, and some of the connections may be a bit fragile, but it's a really nice concept. More like that please Ideas like this one don't come very often to me, but if I do another model similar to this one, I'll be sure to post it on Eurobricks. The profile shot looks really sleek! I feel like the front wheel housings are a bit blocky from other angles, though. If you were able to reduce the amount of brick around each wheel I think it would improve the sleekness. How's this? Superkalle Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 My 9 year old just came into the room when I had the triclotron on the screen. "Wooow, that's cool!" was the spontaneous reaction. So Toa, you've got your first customer. Quote
vynsane Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Oh, wow, yeah - that's a vast improvement, I think! Quote
