Jareth Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 (edited) Despite our warnings, Avalonian Bounty hunters, adventurers and Border "princes" continue to try and make a name for themselves in Nocturnus. (Sigh) Here's the latest trio after tracking down their Tanar'i "Prey" Look at That Rookie! He dropped his weapon AND his sheild! Meanwhile the two Feral Tanar'i seem to be taking bets on the outcome. More pics will be available when the folder is made public. A few notes. I'm glad I came up with a use for flickfire pins. Tanar'i are mostly human/part demon (from D&D) and displacer beasts are eight legged panthers with tentacles that "Displace" their image, making them difficult to hit. (The real Beast is invisible, and there is an illusion of it about 5 feet from where it really is) The base of the Displacer beasts is a Brickforge Centaur Body. I may keep the cliff face around for a background in future projects. Any suggestions on how to (Cheaply) improve it would be appreciated. C&C welcome! Edited May 19, 2013 by Jareth Quote
SkaForHire Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 haha... those Avalonians and their "adventures." We are going to need a new Timmy!!! Anyway, cool idea! I like the beasts a lot and the Tanar'i are a good addition. It has been a long time since I have looked at a monster manual, so I can't remember them very well, but I do remember displacer beasts!!! In way of improvement, I think if that is what you have, that is what you have. Your rocks are pretty good, You hide the BURPs alright with the addition of smaller pieces. I am guessing what most people are going to say is that the ground needs more detail - I think it is OK as it is, because I personally hate decorating the ground, but I think that will be the most common comment on the thread. Gideon Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Awesome creatures! And I love that you actually put the flick-fire missiles to some use As Ska said the ground is a bit "rough", but when you don't decorate it at all as you have done I think it can be all right since I can then regard it as you have chosen a lower level of detail. But as we are aspiring to improve here in GoH I would encourage you to try a detailed ground next time Quote
Maxim I Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 (edited) I agree with Ska: I hate decorating grounds The rockwork itself is pretty good, maybe a cheep improvement are some more cheese slopes Also great job on those beasts!! And I think no one, besides some hippies, will really mise those "Adventurers" (edit: what are the Feral Tanari's doing with the corpses of the dead Avalonians?) soccerkid6 Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 The rock back ground works well As for the ground, it depends on your style, even if you prefer a less cluttered landscape some green plates to give a few elevation changes would be fitting in my opinion, or as the background is rock you could stick a few stones in Quote
