Posted May 20, 201311 yr Hi folks! Great forum / community, I'm a "newbie", but wanted to share a build that my son and I put together: Iron Man's Hulkbuster I. The original idea and credit belongs to an acquaintance of mine from another site (though I am wary of not encroaching on any of this website's rules, so I will refrain from any more detail -- but please do feel free to PM me and I can properly reference it). The basis for 85-90% of this build is from Kai's Fire Mech (70500) http://shop.lego.com...Fire-Mech-70500 -- for instance the body (which holds the Iron Man minifig) substantially the legs and arms (with some re-purposing of various pieces). May 20, 201311 yr I also love taking existing models and re-purposing them! Do you think you could add some hands sometime? Looks great! Now, the final question: Rich man surrounded by "metal" (actually Plastic Man) or the Jolly Green Giant's evil brother...Lego lets us decide (I feel special now. )

Now, the final question: Rich man surrounded by "metal" (actually Plastic Man) or the Jolly Green Giant's evil brother...Lego lets us decide (I feel special now. ) Thanks for your comments. Yes, I am absolutely going to be incorporating proper "hands" (likely the hands from set 4529 - Iron Man Ultrabuild). This updated version will likely be Hulkbuster II. awesome moc! Thank you! great and accurate! the best is the color scheme, nice MOC Thanks, in fact, I just updated the build to incorporate a little more "gold"! Will post some more detailed pics a little later :) Edited May 21, 201311 yr by agoodfella
May 21, 201311 yr Author Here are some more pics as promised (note: updated the build very slightly to add in more "gold" -- technically, "brick yellow".

Like mescheppers, I think I'll have to get the set myself to have a play around with it. Awesome, go for it, and please do post a picture of your build!

New to the lego game so this is my first official MOC (which i stole the idea of from you guys here, haha). anyways, after fiddling around in my parts box for some extra pieces, I spent a good hour figuring out how i wanted to make it, and this is what i managed to come up with!

Wow, that looks great! I love how those hands have mulit-purpose when it unfolds. Could you upload some more details of those hands? Awesome stuff, keep 'em coming folks! When I get my new "hands", I can't wait to incorporate them and I will be uploading v.2! Edited May 26, 201311 yr by LuxorV Please do not quote images or videos from the same page. Thank you.
May 25, 201311 yr Yeah sure thing man. The hands are easy, just copied the way they are from the green robot creator set. Here they are with a few more pictures (it's a really fun piece to photograph).

June 6, 201311 yr Author I also love taking existing models and re-purposing them! Do you think you could add some hands sometime? Looks great! Sometime is now. Hands added. :) Rather than start a brand new thread, figure I'd just update this one. Changelog: HULKBUSTER MK II Added Hands (from the Hero Factory Ultrabuild hands) Updated Arm section (including adding side Missiles) Incorporated more "brick yellow" pieces: Felt that they just complement the "bright red" pieces nicely, and They adds nice depth mirroring the "gold + red" element of the Iron Man suits. June 15, 201311 yr this is coming along really nice, I like how you flipped the trapezoid piece to make chest detail and hold the arc reactor. Forearm missiles are legit as well
June 16, 201311 yr This looks great! One question is how much of the fire mech do you re use? Does it require a lot of extra parts? Would it be better to get two mechs? Edited June 16, 201311 yr by Im a brickmaster.
