soccerkid6 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 (edited) Joktan, Jayan, Erastus, Dedan, and Kenan, along with the Hradcanny dwarves are busy repairing Forngord castle. Some work on patching the walls, others chop trees, use rubble to fill in the swamps, cut stone to rebuild the breach in the wall, fix the roof, and saw lumber. This is a unofficial entry to my Master Architect Challenge. Added 8 studs across the front bringing this to 56x56. I'm especially happy with how the crane (which is functional) and wheelbarrow turned out. More pictures here: http://www.brickbuilt.org/?p=667 Any C&C appreciated Edited January 12, 2016 by soccerkid6 Quote
Nightstalker Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I like the ground work with the leaves. It's pretty cool. The crane is also pretty darn sweet as well. Out of curiosity, is this somewhere close to Nocturnus? I see the weird plant life on the pic above the crane. Quote
Maxim I Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 So many cool stuff you created! The saw, crane, ... they all are breathtaking! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Well a really cool build with a nicely angled entrance and landscaping. I feel the scale of he crane tends to dominate to small castle walls somewhat, and the black corner stones tend to dominate the rest of the wall a little too much, perhaps more black with only grey highlights, but that is a personal choice. Thanks, and the weird plants are there as that is a small section of swamp So many cool stuff you created! The saw, crane, ... they all are breathtaking! Thanks DM! Thanks ISC There are more pics of the original castle here: topic. The crane is definitely too big compared to the castle walls, but I wanted to make it function just like a real one and it became rather large As for the grey/black rather than black/grey I didn't want to totally copy Balthasar's colorscheme so I inverted it Quote
Infernum Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Wow! Even better like this SK! Love the little and big cranes! Great work on the foliage and path! Nice saw too! Quote

soccerkid6 Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 Good on you for evolving a build along with the story, it helps to cement your lore. Thanks ISC, I pay much more attention to the story side of GoH now than when I first joined Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Very daring to work with these colors, but they work very good in my opinion. And I love that crane, well done! Quote
