efferman Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 i want to try to build a proper C model of 42008. the goal is a Kenworth K100 and i hope the 08 delivers enough of the right parts. this is what i have at this time Quote
Kronos Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Looks really good effe. Can't wait to see more. Quote
DLuders Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Are you building an older version of the Kenworth K100? --> Quote
timslegos Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 how are you going to make it work on such a small scale? Looks great so far though. tim Quote
lukeandahalf Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Looking forward to seeing the rest of the truck! A, not many green Models out there. B, I know it will be done so well! Quote
efferman Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 i must say that the low diversity of parts is not really funny. there are theoretical enough parts in green and red, but not much different parts. anyway currently it looks like this Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I think it would be better if it was all green, you can get the connectors in green as well as the lift arms. Quote
efferman Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 thats the problem with C models if you use parts that are not included in the set, then it not more an C model. and there is absolutely no green connector in the 42008 Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Ah....In that case I think you might be better using the 1/2 panels like in the A model. Quote
efferman Posted July 14, 2013 Author Posted July 14, 2013 the cab is more or less finished and there is a need to find a way to built the gasoline tanks with the rest of the parts Quote
timslegos Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Is the mLA used for steering? If so, how does it work? tim Quote
Zerobricks Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Looking good Effe! Will you motorize any functions? Quote
efferman Posted July 14, 2013 Author Posted July 14, 2013 Will you motorize any functions? no, maybe i will yuse an hand powered compressor for the kingpin locking system. @tim similialr like this, only with the mLAs if you want i can make an ldd file Quote
fresko Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Looks very well indeeed! Maybe you can build a square tank, like in peterbilds. Greets, Fresko Quote
GuiliuG Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Personnaly, I like the color scheme, don't change ! The steering is very low with a mini-la, isn't-it? Quote
efferman Posted July 14, 2013 Author Posted July 14, 2013 (edited) indeed, it is very slow and absolutely unneeded. the liftarm method from the first pics works better for playing, but i wanted them for a little bit more complex build. edit: an ldd screenshot from the steering system. unfortunately i have forgotten who has invented this steering geometry, but many thanks to him for this great idea k100 von efferman auf Flickr Edited July 14, 2013 by efferman Quote
rocklego Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 I think the size of tires is relatively small compared to the rest of whole body even in the A or B mode. Quote
efferman Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) instead of fuel tanks i have made sidepanels to decreasing the air resistance Edited July 16, 2013 by efferman Quote
fresko Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Looks great, effe! Is it finished or will you build the pneumatic kingpin lock? Greets, Fresko Quote
rm8 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 great work Effe. If it uses only 42008, I will buy this set only to build this perfect truck. Are you going to make instruction? Quote
efferman Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) jes, it includes only parts from 42008, and no, the kingpin lock and taillights are to do at this time. and yes, i will make an ldd file. Edited July 16, 2013 by efferman Quote
timslegos Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I love the way it looks! Color scheme is a little interesting though. tim Quote
N-4K0 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I would have MOCed it and used only green on the cab, but for strictly using the parts from the set, it looks very good. How much of the parts have you used by now? Are you making a trailer or any other sort of equipment if you have enough parts left? Quote
