BrickG Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 (edited) Something more adult. Lego's official ones kind of suck IMO. I'm really looking at http://www.brickdisplaycase.com/ which look pretty awesome. Any other recommendations? These are nice and enclosed, black and white. They just look good. :P\ The only thing they're missing is lighting. I'm considering buying 1 or 2.... Edited August 2, 2013 by BrickG Quote
jluck Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 I think Firestar toys has some, but frankly I like yours more. http://www.firestartoys.com/Blog/Post/17-minifigure-display-cases!.htm Quote
BrickG Posted August 2, 2013 Author Posted August 2, 2013 I've considered those ones but the way they're just for individuals kind of gets to me. They'd look more cluttered if I got a bajillion of them. Quote
Joebot Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 I've found that golf ball display cases work really well. I have two so far to display my Collectible Minifig collection, and they look great. The shelves are just tall enough to fit MOST of the mini-figs. Some of the exceptionally tall ones, like the Genie, don't quite fit, but I put him up on top of the shelf. There's a whole bunch of different styles and sizes, and they're relatively cheap. I just got one from Amazon for $25 that holds about 50 figures. Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 I have made my own quite easily and cheap. I have got an A4 clip picture frame from a cheap shop. The back of the boards behind the glass on the ones I got were white but they could be easily painted. These go for about £1.00 locally. Then I have got some lengths of wood from B&Q hardware store. It is about 6mm thick with a depth of about 5cm. It is easy to cut that thickness with a Stanley Knife (I guess any sharp craft knife with do. These bits of wood can cut to the size of the A4 frames back plate. (Which should be A4 sized.) So I use the back plate as the back of the frame, two strips of wood top and bottom, two at each side and then one across the middle. I tack it all together, then I got a bag picture frame hangers and bent these into clips that attach the glass front so that it just slides in. I have two on the bottom and two on the sides to hold it is place. These are just about the right size to hold one series of mini-figures. I have then just hung them on the wall. I need to make another one now for series 11. The whole project works out at about £7.00 per case and an hour or so in time. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Does anyone have pictures of their cases "live?" It could let others (myself included) see how it would work for our individual settings. I've heard golfball display cases are good, but do any of them have glass/plexiglass in the front to protect from dust? The brick display cases look great, but I think it would get costly in the long run. I picked up a couple of those multi-colored separated display cases that Wal-Mart had for sale years ago. Each one held about 16 and they had LEGO plates slide in and out of each compartment. Those work great and kept the dust out, but they aren't easily located since then. And again, can be quite costly in the long run. Quote

My initial thought was that would be very expensive with just 8 figs in each so 2 cases per series, but then I saw their pic with 2 entire series in one case, makes it much more reasonable, but still not cheap. aiori Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 For german collectors this manufacturer could be interesting: sora-shop.de The TT-type fits perfect. 16 CMF fit in one row and there are 7 rows. Not the cheapest one, actually. But they make high quality displays. By now I got 4 of them. Two for CMF and two for LOTR minifigs. I equiped he first completed CMFDisplay with a self designed minifig poster showing all minifigs and now I'm working on illuminating the figs with LEDs. I can post a picture, if anyone is interested. fred67 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 This Thread is probably the most comprehensive of a number of minifigure display threads here on EB. Interesting ones, besides the one in the first post, are posts 16, 48, 73. This Thread shows a lot of brick built, but if you read on also in the container store cases discussed in the first thread I linked to. Quote
badbob001 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 This Thread has some more options, including what I currently use. Quote
Temet Nosce Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 This is what I am using, its a pretty simple technic structure, just hung on some strong nails. It possible has a little issue of sagging, especially on the bottom rung but nothing major. Its been hung on the wall for about 2 years now and is still standing so I'm not too concerned. I gave up collecting after series 7, but it has the potential to be easily extended should i decide to get more series. Each row is coloured with the series' bags colour. As an added bonus, it doesn't take up any precious shelf space, and its a great focal and talking point for guests! P.S I need to source more round bricks to make it a full 'big plate' if you will on top, and the figures on the top are the wedding cake topper I had for my wedding, and a mermaid. Not sure what the mermaid is doing there though.... :/ Hope this helps! Quote

Steph 104th Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 We make some nice display solutions, check out http://www.minifigureframes.com/ Those are great, I currently use the official ones for my Special figs (Chrome Vader and White Boba Fett) and I just use the CMF plates to stick figs at my building station against the walls.
