Klaus-Dieter Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) Hello everybody! I had the chance to read through a list for next year's City sets (first half only). But regrettably I didn't see pics. So the whole information I remember is posted here. Please don't ask me about more details since I don't know more. I will even post information on some Friends and SW sets. At set names of other themes I didn't look at. Police theme break-out of the police station (99,99 Euros) break-out of the prison transporter bandit’s hiding place (49,99 Euros) police boat transporter (39,99 Euros) police motorcycle chase police helicopter chase (49,99 Euros) mobile police unit (29,99 Euros) Great Vehicles theme camper with canoe jeep with jetski(s ?) wood transporter car transporter racing car monster truck repair car (probably a car for breakdown service) tow truck (supposably fort rucks since we already had one for cars this year) airport fire truck Klaus-Dieter Edited August 13, 2013 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
LegoSjaak Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) That is early information, you are given us, Klaus Dieter!! There might be some interesting sets, but sure not all of them!! No news about trains??? Greetz, LegoSjaak Edited August 12, 2013 by LegoSjaak Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 No news about trains??? If trains were released in 2014, then firstly in summer or fall. So we would firstly have information on them around Xmas. I even wonder about why we don't get a new construction site. The last one was released in 2009. And I would have bet that we get one this year. But it doesn't seem so. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Spider-Man Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Thanks for the info! I'm hoping the Jeep looks similar to a Jeep Wrangler because I would definitely buy at least one of those Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Great to hear the great vehicles are continuing.....pardon the pun. But seriously more police sets.....2011, 2012, 2013 and now 2014 ? Talking about a police state ! Repair car could be a rehash of the lighting repair truck from 2010......but at least we might be getting a logging (wood) truck to go with the logging set we got this year with the heli-plane. Thanks for the information 'Klaus'.....I guess we'll wait two more months before pictures pop up eh ? Quote
PsyKater Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Thanks for those early information! Great Vehicles themecamper with canoe - sounds great, another camper! seems like they have one all the time now. And we didn't have a canoe in the city theme until now - so great! jeep with jetski(s ?) - fits in the extreme sport series, which I normally ignore. but jetskis sounds fun! wood transporter - finally a "new kind" truck. not another cement mixer or garbage truck (which are all great) car transporter - and another one and this one will be really great. I am really looking forward to this. racing car - I just told some people yesterday that TLG didn't release the new nose part only for the transporter. monster truck - another one? repair car (probably a car for breakdown service) - sounds good but repetitive tow truck (supposably fort rucks since we already had one for cars this year) - so something like the orange in the big garage some years ago. A bit repetitive, but with so many trucks in LEGO City it makes sense... Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Great job as always Klaus! Might skip the majority of police sets this year, but the first half of your Great Vehicles list sounds exceptional!! Nice job! Just to be certain-- you looked up Friends, but not SuperHeroes?! Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I wonder with all these police sets if they are tied into the Lego City Undercover video game or not ? Quote
Ondra Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Lego city is true police state. But vehicles are great, i hope for some big rigs . But Im expecting some train sets for second half, some cool looking express passenger train and long and awesome freight train. Please can you look at technic? Quote
just2good Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) These are like the stuff from 2011, 2012, and 2013 put together. Not any amazing stuff, but the good stuff comes in Summer usually. I like the Camper with Canoe the best, though. We need some Forest Recreational stuff. Thanks Klaus! Edited August 12, 2013 by just2good Quote
Wodanis Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I am pretty excited for the Lego Movie sets. The police look fantastic and will give those of us with City Sets a chance to own elite swat units. Any extra vehicles are always welcomed! Quote
Jargo Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) *EDIT* I'm erring on the side of cautious scepticism as some of these sound too like stuff from the last couple of years. I'll come back and comment more when there are images from retailer catalogues floating round. Edited August 12, 2013 by Jargo Quote
AlaPo Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Thank you very much, Klaus, for this ver interesting news! Btw, "The great vehicle" theme - is gonna be like model team theme or something?... Quote
binaryeye Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Btw, "The great vehicle" theme - is gonna be like model team theme or something?... "Great Vehicles" is just a term given to the City trucks; for example the recent cement mixer, dump truck, garbage truck, etc. Quote
lifeinplastic Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 *Groan* More Police sets? If true, shows a severe lack of imagination or commitment to their own themes again. Makes me wonder if we'll ever get any Zoo/Safari themed sets if Lego keep regurgitating the same rubbish every year. In my opinion Lego City hasn't been any good since the farm sets. Hopefully the jeep and jet ski will provide some form of half decent leisure subtheme. Sorry for the rant but as a Lego City fan first and foremost it is annoying to see so many other themes always take priority. Quote
Chocolatecake Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 The only thing from the Policetheme that sounds good is the Motorcycle chase, but the rest sounds like meeehhh.. but it might surprise me. But the camper with canoe and the repair car sounds very interesting. Quote
paul_delahaye Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Police sets, never saw that one coming! Quote
Pierre_Cochereau Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the info, Klaus-Dieter. In fact, I was searching for a possible rumor/discussion thread yesterday ... and today it's there. The Police theme isn't surprising; after all, it's been three years since the last release of a City Police HQ (not counting the Forest Police theme). I like the Logging Truck; maybe there is even some hope after all that we might get more logging sets in the future, maybe even a sawmill. Also looking forward to the Car Transporter. As for the Police stuff ... I'm kind of curious to see how they come out with the special emphasis on the "breakout" ... maybe there will be some new/interesting features and building techniques. Sorry for the rant but as a Lego City fan first and foremost it is annoying to see so many other themes always take priority. Completely agree. I think Farm was the most unique deviation Lego had in the City range for years, and I'm saddened that I was in my dark ages at the time and didn't get a chance to grab them. I think there's been a few interesting sets here and there since, especially in the Great Vehicles range with Car & Camper, etc. But long gone is the time of Restaurants & everyday living/recreational type sets, except in Friends. Anyway, I'm trying to move away from City and into Creator, so another bunch of Police sets means I'm not tempted to spend on City. Quote

Bricknblue Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 2014. The year LEGO City died. More boring police? Why not have some more different police stations like the forest one? LEGO City Coastal Police or desert police, or airport police, anything really! At least we get more campers out of the deal. But there are only so many $20 town sets before they all feel the same. However the wood transporter seems promising because I want the heliplane. Quote
Cwetqo Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I think that those might be mixed new and old sets. Those list always contain both. But I havent seen any of it, so its just my speculation. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 The year Lego City died?! Really?!! From an incomplete list of only Winter Wave sets? While I like new set leaks as much as anyone, let's remember that TLG wants to present them to us on their own terms. I went into each of the last 2 years saying I was going to stay away from all police sets, only to pick up the entire Elite series this year and all but one smaller set of the Forest Police series last year. In other words, keep an open mind, wait until pics are unveiled. I'm really excited about the Great Vehicles, myself! Quote
andythenorth Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 In other words, keep an open mind, wait until pics are unveiled. What a totally ridiculous attitude. AFOLS are dedicated serious collectors. If they can't form a knee-jerk opinion on the basis of almost no evidence, then really, who can? I think you need to reconsider if you are a true fan. Your reasonable attitude makes me think that you are nothing other than an apologist for TLG, and possibly even someone they have planted here to cover up the fact that they are destroying everything that made TLG great, and ignoring the valued opinions of many millions of AFOLs. Of course City is dying. It always has been. Quote
