Posted August 25, 201311 yr Just as I did with the 8043 Motorized Excavator, I made a fully remote controlled and improved version of the 42009 Mobile Crane Mk II set. All the essential functions of the crane were motorized, which are: Driving (1x XL-motor) Steering (1x M-motor) Outriggers (1x M-motor) Outrigger-legs (1x M-motor) Lifting/lowering boom (1x L-motor) Extending/retracting boom (1x L-motor) Lifting/lowering hook (1x M-motor) Upperstructure 360+ degree rotation (1x M-motor) Funtions that were improved: Boom extends further. Max boom-length 96 studs Boom retractrs further Better steering-lock Solid metal hook Increased lifting power Faster outriggers More efficient drivetrains Building instructions Full building instructions are available as free download. And there are 2 different parts-lists: 1 for the complete model and 1 that only contains the extra parts needed bedises a standard 42009. Go to the Instructions page on www.jurgenstechniccorner.com to download them All remarks and questions about this MOD and the instructions can be posted here. August 25, 201311 yr Thanks for the instructions on your amazing recreation Jurgen! Now to find that extra L Motor. I read it's possible to do it with a M Motor, but I want to do this right. Guess I have to use bricklink for that.
August 25, 201311 yr Very great mod's you make for the 42009 and this how the set must be. The music is also great Jurgen . I can't wait to seen it in action at our Lowlug stand on Legoworld
August 25, 201311 yr This might be a stupid question but it it possible to retrofit the stock 42009 into this without having to take it all apart? I don't want to spend too much time at this and i know how long it took to build the original. Never mind had a look at the partlist and seems like i have to. Oh well i'll hold of on this for now. I have other things i wanna do first. Anyway thanks for making this. It looks really nice.
August 25, 201311 yr Author @EyesOnly:: I'm, afraid you'l have to disassemble your 42009. The differences are drastic, I completely rebuilt the insides of the model.
August 25, 201311 yr I think the part list is not accurate. For example, I couldn't find the extension cable and metal hook on the additional part list but I found the Engine connecting rod (2852) x 8 which they are already included in the 42009 Edited August 25, 201311 yr by terenshi
August 25, 201311 yr Great MOC, will definitely build this! Q: When I open the partslist in Brickstore I get errors about not existing parts. Does anybody know how to add these new parts to Brickstore? I checked and my Brickstore software is up-to-date.
August 25, 201311 yr This mod looks very cool,Its a shame you could not of added another stage to the support legs....

August 25, 201311 yr Amazing model ! You should have a look at this : Astonnishing new arm for the 42009 mobile crane
August 25, 201311 yr Hi Jurgen Could you add the 42009 ultimate to Rebrickable too? I'm not familiar with Brickstore Database. Thanks! Edited August 25, 201311 yr by Tech-nick

August 25, 201311 yr Welldone Jurgen as usual , I like to see how only a XL motor and two wheels can move so easy the crane and the steering is so sweet .
