hench Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 (edited) Wolf Basin, a place where you can found many wolves is stationed in north-west part of beautiful Tundra. Marc and Rolf, two brave wolf-hunters from nearest village are walking between old trees when suddenly ... Edited September 23, 2013 by hench Quote
kabel Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 hey hench, don't get me wrong, I like your build and there many interesting things about it. However, before you can participate you need to sign up for the Guild of Mitgardia and introduce yourself with a character and shwear your loyalties to the Northern guild. Also, we want to explain where in Mitgardia your landscape can be found and you are also to post this in the community build thread before you open a single thread. All's cool kabel Quote
kabel Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 alright, cool stuff! Now as for you moc. I really like the idea of a direwolf hiding in the forest and I also like the mix of colors you are using here. Some things to improve: - add more foliage to the ground, undergrowth in old growth forests tends to be really thick. So in this case I'd say put at least 20 more of the leave pieces on the ground. - I wouldn't use black for the forest ground, brown, dark tan are much better - try to create thinner branches. the wedge piece doens't look too good here. - a great collection of brick build trees can be found here. Try to use some of the techniques portrayed there - take pictures of different angles to make things look more interesting Quote
mpoh98 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Cool moc! I agree with kabel, follow those instructions, and you shall improve! :D Quote
Infernum Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Very nice! I suggest listening to kabel, as he has some great advice! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Very cool back story and I like the figs' posings a lot Nice to see some snow on the ground as well. Kabel's suggestions are excellent and I'd also add that smaller plates usually work better when landscaping than large ones Quote
kermit Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 It has a lot of green for the tundra. A little more snow would help make it look less like a jungle. Quote
de Gothia Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 A nice moc! However it doesn´t scream out tundra for me. More like a lush mitgardian forest... As other have said, Kabel have some great advices for your moc! Keep em coming! =) Quote
Legonardo Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) Nice moc, next time try have a little more light when you shot you photos, and add a read more variation too the base (not necessarily more leaf parts, you've already used more than I own, but smoother layering of tiles and plates, at the moment there its a lot of contrast) and it should allow your build to pop quite a bit more Keep it up Edit: what's up with mpoh98¿? Infernum Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Edit: what's up with mpoh98¿? Not sure if we should talk about it, whatever it is. A few days ago he commented on a ton of MOCs from different threads, probably just to catch up on ones he missed, and I bet someone thought he was post-hunting (which I doubt he was, but who knows). Infernum Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Ha, ha, now's he's a count! Way to redeem yourself buddy! Quote
Maxim I Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I am not a huge fan of the brown using in both the ground and in the tree. But it is already a nice beginning :) welcome in GoH! Quote
