Kai NRG Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Ageven heads back down Kaliphlin to Auner to found a city, leaving Kaflar and his followers at the ancient site of Kaligem (which for story purposes means you probably won't hear about them for a long. long time). This was a very fast MOC, I wanted to give myself some more practice with an irregular border, but I had to conclude that I really don't have enough pieces yet for any sizable vig that way... Also wanted to get some more Kaliphlin free-builds out there! C&C welcome! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Irregular borders done with wedge and curved plates definitely take a lot of said plates. Your base looks very good and the figs' posings are excellent, neat touch with the barrels behind the riders, are they supposed to be bedrolls? Quote
mpoh98 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Lovely free build, I like the irregular baseplate! Quote
Gideon Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Nice with so many layers of irregular pieces in the border! But if you want to build bigger I think 2-3 layers might be a good compromise to save parts, and it might also be possible to sneak in some good old rectangular plates there as well How did you attach those packs/bedrolls behind the riders at the back? Niku Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I think it really looks good for the amount of pieces used. PS. those guys seem to be very happy on leaving Kaliphlin. Quote
Kai NRG Posted October 21, 2013 Author Posted October 21, 2013 Thanks everyone! Irregular borders done with wedge and curved plates definitely take a lot of said plates. Your base looks very good and the figs' posings are excellent, neat touch with the barrels behind the riders, are they supposed to be bedrolls? Not exactly, I was thinking they were just supplies. But they do look a bit like bedrolls. Nice with so many layers of irregular pieces in the border! But if you want to build bigger I think 2-3 layers might be a good compromise to save parts, and it might also be possible to sneak in some good old rectangular plates there as well How did you attach those packs/bedrolls behind the riders at the back? Yeah, I probably didn't need to do quite so many layers. And a few rectangular pieces would probably have saved me a bit... good idea! They actually aren't attached at all, just balanced there! I think it really looks good for the amount of pieces used. PS. those guys seem to be very happy on leaving Kaliphlin. But they're not leaving Kaliphlin! Quote
de Gothia Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) Well practicing on irregular borders are really paying of! This is great! The minifigs posings are as always perfect! Edited October 22, 2013 by de Gothia Quote
