Sarlina's Cottage

Sarlina was always an adventurous person, right from childhood. she was brought up in a small cottage in the village of grim hollow on the Dark Isle of Avalonia, with her two loving parents. although a dark time, she was happy, and enjoyed the friendship of Tayrn. One night long ago her house was looted and her parents beheaded, when she woke that morning something in her snapped, a rebellious nature has born into her, as well as longing for justice.

or perhaps a lust for revenge?

since then she rarely visits her cottage, always off getting up to something...

Ok chums, i was gonna build this one ages ago, but uhm... yeah. CCC XI is coming up soon, this was a 3 day build, so thats good considering i'm not gonna have as much time to win master builder as i had originally anticipated, but will do!

this thing is damn flimsy!

Lovely build, very 'Legonardo' I like that you added gables and frog at the peak works nicely. I'm going to have to try your roof design sometime, it looks amazing  Tremendous rockwork and landscape too, it almost seems to mirror the shape of the cottage. Very much looking forward to your CCC builds, I'll be entering a few times myself

Wonderful work Legonardo! I love everything about this build, it just screams awesome! You should make a tutorial on how to make your rocks. I sure could use it!

The final house turned out lovely! The detailing on the walls and roof are great, and all the various directions the rock pieces are assembled makes me dizzy :classic:

I don't know what you have behind there, but I guess a light hand might be needed when moving a build like this...?

Wow, those are some awesome angles you've managed to achieve. I can just picture the top part of the cottage sliding off and smashing on the rocky ground. (And of course lovely work with the colour scheme, and landscaping/rock work as always.)

Am I right in guessing that the walls on the upper floor are actually at right angles to each other and it's a mix of the tilt and the plates forming the timberwork that give it the completely rickety feel? Then the roof is square with the base and the timberwork is covering the joins?

Regardless it's very cleverly done.

Gauntlet. On. The. Ground.

Just for the sake of pushing myself I'll be trying to get enough done to at least qualify for Master Builder. Ain't no prayer of winning if this is a warm-up for you though.

Looking forward to seeing who might pick up LD's gauntlet and accept the challenge

thanks guys!

Gah, allways with the rock tutorial! :classic: it shard to think of how to explain it, its not like roofs or walls!

both walls are, alongside having been built diagonally, are leaning out somewhere about 10 degrees. roof is square with the base, though the upper triangle also leans out.

This can't be any more brilliant. I have been trying to get this exact same feel in a creation with limited success and this is so inspiring to me. Are the walls of the second floor actually at angles to the first floor?

I of course mean outward angles. They're obviously angled vertically. So I guess I mean I can tell they are slanted on the X and Y axis, do they angle out on the Z axis as well?
