Needing some help

Every year at Christmas time we have a small table that my son uses for his Advent Calendar and other Lego Christmas decorations. He has a couple of older Santas and and Angel I built as a child. This year I am wanting to surprise him with a little bit larger layout. I have the idea concept in my head and sketched out somewhat. Everything is a no brainer except the Christmas tree. I am wanting a tree that is 6-8" in height. I cannot find any fan build instructions for a good tree anywhere. Does anyone here have any plans or ways I can build the tree I desire? Thanks in advance.

This isn't exactly what you're asking for, but last night my wife and I built the Christmas tree from the Winter Village Toy Shop set. We were very pleased with how nice it looks. You can read the instructions for the set here: http://brickset.com/detail/?set=10199-1

This may help if you just follow the directions for the tree portion of the build. I don't have it with me, but it is close to 6" or so in height.

this isn't exactly a Christmas tree but the structure might allow you to build a tree as tall as you'd like and adapt it as per your needs:

I built the tree from the Winter Toy Shop, and then continued it to make it twice as tall. I used LDD to design the lower portion. Here you can see most of the tree, unfortunately I do not seem to have a good picture of the entire thing, but the top half is the tree form the Winter Toy Shop. If you'd like, I can email you the LDD file for the additional sections of the Winter Toy Shop Tree.

Thanks to both of you but legoboy has an LDD file of a bigger tree he did. That's what I was referring to.

Here is the LDD file for my Christmas tree extension (it may take a day for it to work because I just uploaded it to Brickshelf). You will still need to build the Christmas tree from the Winter Toy Shop to put on top, and add a longer technic axel to hold it all together. I used the tree stand from the original tree as the base. If you have any questions, let me know.
