Lord Vladivus Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) "A particular day in the depths of winter holds a particular significance for Vladivus. This is a day in which he travels to the Rakath Mountains, unguarded, alone, and allows himself to become lost. It is then that he will be found, and taken to that spot which he holds dearest in all Historica. For on this day, it is the anniversary of his entry to Nocturnus, and the anniversary of the death of his mother. Vladivus was merely a baby when he arrived in Nocturnus, and was unable to protect his mother from the Caniban, but salvation came for the young half-Vampire. Corocus, a disgraced member of the Kazzar Tribe found the Caniban attacking Vladivus' mother, and beat off her attackers. Vladivus mother died of her wounds, but Vladivus himself was hale, and was raised by Corocus. Vladivus visits Corocus yearly, on this date, and ensures the old reptile is well. Vladvius: "Hail and well met Godfather!" Corocus: "Aye, welcome young Vladivussss." Vladivus: "Do I find you in good health? Is my mother's grave undisturbed?" Corocus: "Yesss, lad, I am well. There are a few bandits roaming these hills. It is troubling, they bear the colours of the Black Spire, and I have seen Avalonians amongst them." Vladivus paused, deep in thought, as his mind wandered back to his hazy memories of his arrival in Nocturnus..." Sans figs: Thanks for looking, this is the first part of a trio of freebuilds relating to Vladivus' entry into Nocturnus. I'm quite pleased with the tree technique. C+C welcome! Gideon Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Interesting backstory of the character, he seems less evil than he looks I also really like the reptile character as well, vignette looks good as well. Looking forward to the rest of the builds! Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 Cheers Gideon! Yeah Vladivus is rather fond of his mother. He's also pretty honourable, it's his mixed Vampire/Avalonian heritage. But he's not afraid of evil deeds. And regarding the reptile character, he's inspired by Torgar's Kazzar tribe. I have the other two builds built, and one is photographed, so I just need to post it, and then photograph the third build. They're introducing a couple of secondary characters involved with my Book 2 storyline. Quote
The Architect Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Very nice! I like how you were able to make something from that Chima "theme" look really good. And that may have been my squad Corocus saw . Quote
Torgar Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Great story, I love your use of the Kazzar tribe! Your vig looks good too, I like the tree. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted November 16, 2013 Author Posted November 16, 2013 @Torgar cheers! I hope it was cool me using your tribe. Initially he was going to be a Reptrian, but the look fitted with the Kazzar. I made him disgraced, because I was unsure of the Kazzar's allegiances. Quote
Infernum Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Great backstory! Love the build too! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 I like how you used the rounded plates for the corners of the build and the grave and tree are great Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 Cheers Infernum! @Sk, Cheers, I did the rounded for a Star Wars build, and it's always stuck with me- it makes it seem more finished, when compared with actual corners! Quote
mpoh98 Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Very nice, I like the tree! Great story as well, looking forward to the next! Quote
Yooha Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) I like that the story is not was I expected just by looking at the pictures. Don't judge early! Edited November 19, 2013 by Yooha Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 @mpoh98 and Yooha cheers! I hope you enjoy the rest of the story! The next installment should be up sometime tomorrow! Quote
kermit Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Should he be out in daylight being half-vampire and all? Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted November 19, 2013 Author Posted November 19, 2013 His half-human side gives him immunity from sparkling in sunlight. Haha, seriously, I imagine that his human side conveys the ability to resist the killing effect of the sunlight. Quote
Yooha Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) And one more thing: I wonder if he can be done with a friendlier facial expression, where he doesn't grinding his teeth. Edited November 20, 2013 by Yooha Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 I do wish they'd done a Voldemort head that wasn't grinning like that. Quote
