DrJB Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) Few weeks ago I asked about whether anyone has tried a MOC of the Plymouth Prowler (can't find the thread). Now, I'm thinking possibly a list of MOCs we all would like to see (and maybe build). The few vehicles that come to mind are: 1. Plymouth Prowler - A funky/retro hot-rod car made by Chrysler 2. Dodge Tomahawk - A non-conventional motorbike with 2 dual front/rear tires (4 total) - Made by Chrysler again 3. Citröen 2CV - Iconic French car. Incidentally, I saw one in top shape last week in Chicago ... yes, spoke to the driver, he was very proud of it of course. Let this thread be a list of suggestions/ideas for some unique/iconic MOCs PS. Might be a surprise to some but, Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge/Jeep are all brands of the Chrysler Corporation, which, is now partly owned by Fiat. Edited December 2, 2013 by DrJB Quote
DrJB Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) Thank you for pointing that out ... and from the tires/wheels of the Mindstorms RIS 2.0, that car looks fairly big ... Two comments though: 1. Love the gear shifter and low/high beams - very authentic 2. Only thing missing is ... foldable driver/passenger windows ... Edited December 2, 2013 by DrJB Quote
VKTechnic Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I've always wanted to build a hexapod with a separate NXT motor for each joint, maybe 3 joints in each leg and then 2 to rotate the different sections of the body (each body section would have 2 legs), but I don't have the money for 20 motors, nor do I have the time to code that monster. NevynPA Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I'd like to see a real nice Z3 M Coupe. I just don't know if I have the parts to do it justice. Quote
DrJB Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) Z3 would be a Nissan ... correct? Edit: Z3 is a beamer ... Edited December 2, 2013 by DrJB Quote
Sariel Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 2. Dodge Tomahawk - A non-conventional motorbike with 2 dual front/rear tires (4 total) - Made by Chrysler again I've done something like that long time ago, but it's definitely not the best thing you can build: Quote
NevynPA Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) Z3 would be a Nissan ... correct? D3K is right; it's a BMW. They look like this: Edited December 2, 2013 by NevynPA Quote
darsedz Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I'm dreaming on some of old race cars... of course to do my own MOC... Quote
D3K Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) I switched through channels earlier this year, and came across a channel showing an American Le Mans Series race, I think it was LMP2 and GT3 classes in a multiclass race.. Anyway, there was this car racing, taken straight out of Batman: And it seemed to be winning!! The DeltaWing was something I had never heard of, but I was really fascinated! It seems like the design team just threw everything we know about cars out the window, and were told to make something as fast, light and aerodynamically efficient as possible, starting from scratch, and staying within the FIA rules for whatever event it was supposed to enter in. (Those rules, it would seem, wasn't much more than "it has to have four wheels") So I really want to make one of these some day! Edited December 2, 2013 by D3K Quote
Junpei Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 How does it steer? And how does that count as a car? :P That would be a real challenge. Quote
Lakop Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) For me the Batman tumbler is a must. There are many versions out there using town lego and technic, they are truly brilliant looking. I built the front steering as a practice. I hope to make a full model. The Delta wing car is a great idea. A car with the features of the james bond car, ejector seat, changing license plate etc and much more. I love that Citreon. H Edited December 2, 2013 by Horace T Quote
D3K Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 How does it steer? And how does that count as a car? :P That would be a real challenge. Probably like most aircraft, with ailerons, rudders and such.. No, I think it is more or less like a normal car.. Read up on it on wikipedia, it is quite a fascinating feat of engineering! Notable numbers are [...a power-to-weight ratio of 631 brake horsepower per ton, and a drag coefficient of 0.35] Quote
DrJB Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 D3K is right; it's a BMW. They look like this: Correct, I was thinking of the Nissan Z ... which is a 'different' vehicle, yet very 'sporty' Quote
Phoxtane Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Personally, I'd love to get into GBC and various other non-vehicle mechanisms. I think it gets tiring having vehicles completely dominate the Technic MOCs Quote
VKTechnic Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 How does it steer? And how does that count as a car? :P That would be a real challenge. It has 2 thin front wheels, and it steers really well apparently. I also heard at some point that a Lego model was in progress, but that was a while ago. Quote
skylinedan Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I,ve been planing for sometime to build a 957 Cat push pull scraper, also a D-11 dozer. With winter here, maybe I can get something built, and spend less time shooting pictures, LOl. Quote

Doc_Brown Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I would like to see someone give this ago! It's Russian, and thats all i can remember but it does lift up off the tracks to turn or if it gets stuck. Quote
Lipko Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) I don't know about "all", but a street supercar version of the thumbler could be cool. And I would love to see a telescopic handler with a self levelling pallet fork, and with a flawless manual crab/normal/all-wheel steering. Edited December 3, 2013 by Lipko Quote
kevman Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 call me crazy! but I would love to se a 1977 dodge monaco police car in Technic 1/10 scale. It is one of those iconic cars of the 70's that you see in many old movies where there are police chases. I think it would be so much fun to have one of those to ride aaround and jump and crash in lego technic form. Quote
legomuppet9 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 This: People have built them, but it needs a big MOC to properly commend this amazing feat of engineering Quote
D3K Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 The V-22 Osprey is indeed a fascinating aircraft! Saw a couple of them over NYC as I was sailing up the Hudson in 2010, and was very impressed! Being a military man, my interest for these kind of things is way above average, but until I saw them IRL, I just thought it was a prototype, having read about all the problems they had developing it! Anyway, I think next years cargo plane could be a good starting point for anyone wanting to build an Osprey MOC.. Fuselage seems to be roughly the same size (except for the added height of the Osprey), and landing gear, position of the wings on the body, even the rear loading ramp, are pretty much the same! Should of course be made in LBG Quote
iconq Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I am still waiting for the Land Rover to be a Cuusoo-set ;) However, I do agree that the V-22 would be an awesome MOC. I wonder if it is possible to use NXT gyro sensors to make a tilt-correcting mechanism. Quote
