MagPiesRUs Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Day One / Day Two Jarni Child-Sparer (jamesn) was ruminating in the hall. Harald had just informed everyone that Sigrid (Sisco) was one of the Einherjar. How many more of us must die? Jarni wondered. He had still not gotten over the loss of Kolgrima, whom he had become infatuated with as of late. If only I had married someone like that back in Novgorod, he thought. A shadowy figure advanced behind him... ... But Jarni was ready! Springing into action, he deflected his assailant's blow. With another swing of his axe, he disarmed his opponent... Jarni proceeded to push the figure down and hold them over the fireplace. "Wait! Wait!" the figure pleaded, "I'm under 18!" Jarni Child-Sparer gasped. "You may not be able to tell from my blackened visage, but I am in fact a child!" Jarni stepped back, unable to kill his attacker. "Away with you, fair child. I am a man of principle, and I will not harm you." As Jarni began to walk away however, the figure recomposed itself and reached for its sword again. The figure lunged at Jarni and caught him in the back. Jarni Child-Sparer was ended. He was a loyal Einherjar. Meanwhile, another shadowy figure was ascending a ladder. Ready to go about their bloody business, the figure crept across the balcony. Finally, they came to their target. Silently, the figure closed in on Gofraid the Foog (Fugazi). However, Gofraid had been prepared for such attacks. "I shall not be slain on Night Two!" yelled Gofraid, "not this time!" Charging at the axe-wielding figure, Gofraid thrust his attacker against the balcony. With all their might, however, the axe-wielding figure gained the upper hand and began to push Gofraid back towards the window. With a thundering crash, both warriors burst through the window of Valhalla and tumbled out... Both warriors plummeted down to the ground. *THUD!* The axe-wielding figure pulled themselves to their feet and stumbled away from the scene as quickly as possible. The sun began to rise, but Gofraid did not. He was a member of the Einherjar. Bob Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 This is shit. The fact that we've been unable to find a single Servant of Loki is just stupid. I'm also glad that we didn't have to waste a day on Sigrid but dismayed that she turned out to be a loyal Einherjar. It's rather annoying that she would just leave us when we needed her.
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 It's rather annoying that she would just leave us when we needed her. Yeah, who would have predicted that? I am surprised about Gofraid. I wish he'd made more of stance last night about who he thought was suspicious.
Hinckley Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Mursi asked me about Petr's wacky antics, and I let him know that it was within his character to be wacky. To pull a stunt to try and draw people out. I wasn't saying he was definitely town, but that it should be kept in mind when making a decision. Mursi had no interest in it. That's really misleading. I didn't know he was faking anything. I did think his explanation was plausible. And when he sent a PM to me about Tumi (while I was sleeping) before he died, that really made him lean town. But at the time, I was quite unsure, and would have been willing to vote for him to secure a lynch. Do you still think Mursi was desperate to keep votes off of Sisco by ignoring such vital insight to Petr's psyche? Really? The only person who took issue with it at the time was Kristel. It's convenient that you see this as a scum tell now, and not at the time when you jumped on the Petr bandwagon. There were around twelve hours left, and there wasn't going to be a lynch. So I suggested we rally our votes around the top three suspects. Get it? I didn't choose those people. The town did. They were the top three. Making it sound like I just plucked these three and forced you to vote for them is completely misleading. Again, you should have brought it up at the time if you thought it was a scum ploy to manipulate the vote. But you didn't.... At the time it did trigger a little ping, but it made sense to reach a conviction and be productive. But, combine that with your "Lynch Sigrid or Lynch Mursi" proposal for the second day and you've done it twice. How easy is it for a Scum to look at the first day voting list, see three Townies leading the votes and say "Well, let's pick one of these to make a lynch"? Guaranteed a Town lynch instead of a no-lynch. I wish I could address the rest of what you've said, but I have to work, and I'm already going to be a little late because I wanted to deal with this attempt to distract the town. Helga. I look forward to when you have time. There's one less kill, which is good. Hopefully, that tells somebody something and can lead to a Servant lynch already. Gofraid had aroused some suspicion so I assume that was the vig. Jarni is an interesting choice for a kill. Considering how middle of the road he was playing, that looks like it could be a serial killing. So, were the Scum blocked? Wilhalm, did you cure the SK?
Hinckley Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I am surprised about Gofraid. I wish he'd made more of stance last night about who he thought was suspicious. He did leave us a list. Though he was clear it was meant as a point of discussion not a laundry list of Scum. Worth a look anyway: Another way to group players: Those who helped lynching Petr yesterday, but DIDN'T push for Naemr's lynch today: Canute, Naemr, Mursi, Helga, Jarni, Gofraid Those who helped lynching Petr AND pushed for Naemr's lynch: Dragstyrr, Lefsi, Patrekr, Rurik, Wary Those who DIDN'T vote for Petr but pushed for Naemr's lynch: Dufa Those who DIDN'T vote for Petr and DIDN'T push for Naemr's lynch: Baulf, Finn, Snotra, Wilhalm. Personally I think that the group most likely to include scum is the second, but in all likelihood Servants of Loki have attempted to distance each other and there could be scum in every group. Pick your favourite! Bold added for emphasis. Lefsi was pinging people a lot on Day One and then during the first night, the case against was abruptly dropped. I've mentioned Rurik before as someone who is riding that center line. He's normally hard to read and he was a bit jumpy when I first contacted him by PM. Dagstyr occasionally stops by to appear "useful?" but hasn't really contributed anything. As I said last night: I don't really know. Unless we have a role cop or he does find the SK, I don't really see a way for definitive proof. I guess we could watch him every night to make sure he's not the SK or scum killer, but that doesn't seem like a good use of resources. All we can really do is investigate and hope he isn't godfather if he comes up as town, right? I'm beginning to see what Finn meant by not encouraging inactive Scum to speak up by saying that the middle ground might be where they're hiding. Dagstyr, it would be nice if you put some more effort into the game. You've been active before. Your sporadic contributions are starting to make it seem like you have something to hide. Patrekr and Wary are also flying under the radar. I haven't heard much from Wary except his suspicions about Gofraid and Naemr. Patrekr contacted me by PM to help me search Jarni's posts for why Kolgrima thought he was Scum. Anybody else? Thoughts on this? This gives us a new perspective from which to review the events of the last two days. I'm not suggesting we only choose that list to vote from (Dufa) but it's time we all started discussing.
CMP Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 This is shit. The fact that we've been unable to find a single Servant of Loki is just stupid. I know, right?! With all your valuable input, we should be dancing on their corpses right now! I too think axe-killer is our vig. It was probably for the best to get Mist out of the way and it looks like Gofraid got a lot of suspicion yesterday. Plus all of his discussion was really centered around defending himself even though it didn't look like anyone was serious suggesting we lynch him. If that's the case I'll wager the longsword killer is the SK. It occurred to me that if we didn't have an SK our compulsive vig or whoever we have replacing him would've said something yesterday. Since it does seem to be an SK, his target last night was likely Wilhalm. Town protector, if you didn't target Wilhalm last night and have some safe way to relay that to us, that'd be pretty great... Found this buried among yesterday's discussion. With Chlodochar gone and myself out of the equation, remain Dagstyrr, Patrekr, Wary and Lefsi. As I already mentioned, I find Dagstyrr's voting maneuver peculiar, and I'm sure he will want to explain it himself. He would be my most suspicious candidate right now. I don't have a good reading on any of the three other, so they could be anything. I seriously want to hear from Dagstyrr too. I made my suspicion of him known on Day One, and I feel like he only speaks to vote or when someone calls him out on his inactivity.
Hinckley Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 It's very interesting analysis you've done, Gofraid I wish I had thought of it. Gofraid assumed you were being sarcastic with this. Were you? I suck at vote analysis so for someone who is good at it, here's an update voting pattern from Day One with the Townies higlighted: Vote Count Petr Half-Troll (Piratedave84): 12 votes (Captain Nemo, jamesn, Cornelius Murdock, Hinckley, CallMePie, Rick, Fugazi, LegoDad, Waterbrick Down, Palathadric, Captain Genaro, Darkdragon) Sigrid (Sisco): 8 votes (Piratedave84, Bob, def, Scubacarrot, fhomess, Trumpetking, WhiteFang, Mencot) Non-voters: 2 (Sisco, Kristel) With a majority of 12 votes, Petr Half-Troll (Piratedave84) has been convicted. A conclusion will be posted soon. It is now night time. You have 24 hours to send in your night actions.
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Yes, he had a group of people he thought might contain a scum. He couched that in the fact that any group he made likely contained a scum as well. The list might as well include everyone. I'm saying that I wish he'd said more about why he thought that group was more suspicious and who out of that he believed was more likely scum. I would have valued such an opinion. Gofraid assumed you were being sarcastic with this. Were you? If it was, he should have used , , or even ( Dufa seems like the type that would be especially fond of that last one.) Otherwise he could have said so when I interpreted his comment as genuine.

CorneliusMurdock Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Thanks for your input. See that told us it was sarcasm.
Hinckley Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 See that told us it was sarcasm. Right, that's emoticon etiquette.
Bob Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Thanks for your input. You had already made three other posts before coming back to mine and commenting on it. Why? Did someone tell you to?
Hinckley Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 You had already made three other posts before coming back to mine and commenting on it. Why? Did someone tell you to? Tell me to what?
Darkdragon Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Day three, all dead so far are town, I'd say we look at the people who have been leading the lynches. You had already made three other posts before coming back to mine and commenting on it. Why? Did someone tell you to? My thought exactly, though he doesn't usually do what people tell him to so maybe not.
Bob Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Tell me to what? Tell you to comment on my "useless post".
CMP Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Tell you to comment on my "useless post". Be careful, Snotra got grilled on Day One for putting unnecessary quotes around stuff.
Hinckley Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Tell you to comment on my "useless post". So this is your contribution? Ok, I'll play along. Did someone tell me to comment on your useless post? No. Day three, all dead so far are town, I'd say we look at the people who have been leading the lynches. My thought exactly, though he doesn't usually do what people tell him to so maybe not. Such a succint summary and then you agree with the idea that someone told me to comment on Baulf's useless post. I can't believe I was so easily foiled by the two of you. Dagstyr, do you have anything useful to contribute? Any response to the people who have addressed you in the first couple of posts here or will you just continue to count the Townie corpses for us?
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Why would someone tell him to comment on it? Why wouldn't they do so themselves?
Darkdragon Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Any response to the people who have addressed you in the first couple of posts here or will you just continue to count the Townie corpses for us? Nobody has asked me anything other than saying i'm quiet. Interesting you say "count the Townie corpses for us", I though your scum team could count for themselves. I really don't have anything useful to add or I would. If I had any night info, I'd pass it on to someone I trusted, but I don't. Now that we see all the dead town I think we really can look back at the past two days and nights for the people pushing these lynches. That's what I'm planning to do, hopefully will have some useful contribution from that. Why would someone tell him to comment on it? Why wouldn't they do so themselves? I thought of that in a way like the scum team saying "you are ignoring bob and he might pick up that".
Hinckley Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Nobody has asked me anything other than saying i'm quiet. Interesting you say "count the Townie corpses for us", I though your scum team could count for themselves. Tell me how it's interesting. You think I was told to post about Bob and then I used the word "us" and that makes me Scum. Does that sound about right? A lot has been said regarding your and other's activity. Do you have any opinions on it? It'd be nice if you would contribute more to our Scum hunt. I thought of that in a way like the scum team saying "you are ignoring bob and he might pick up that". So, ignoring Baulf would've been Scummy?
Rick Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 So I suggested we rally our votes around the top three suspects. Get it? I didn't choose those people. The town did. They were the top three. Making it sound like I just plucked these three and forced you to vote for them is completely misleading. Again, you should have brought it up at the time if you thought it was a scum ploy to manipulate the vote. But you didn't.... ... or was it convenient that the town (possible scum tell emphasised, even though you did that yourself) did that for you? At the time it did trigger a little ping, but it made sense to reach a conviction and be productive. But, combine that with your "Lynch Sigrid or Lynch Mursi" proposal for the second day and you've done it twice. How easy is it for a Scum to look at the first day voting list, see three Townies leading the votes and say "Well, let's pick one of these to make a lynch"? Guaranteed a Town lynch instead of a no-lynch. This is what I've been saying all along. It looks like the Servants were trying to keep us focused on the day one suspects, which is preventing progress, especially considering we didn't lynch yesterday. He did leave us a list. Though he was clear it was meant as a point of discussion not a laundry list of Scum. Worth a look anyway: Wasn't that list based on the idea that the Servants were trying to save a possibly scummy Sigrid on day one and trying to get a lynch on Naemr, someone who Gofraid believed to be Einherjar, on day two? Knowing that Sigrid was Einherjar, the Servants had a relatively easy day one and I think it's likely they spread their votes. Lefsi was pinging people a lot on Day One and then during the first night, the case against was abruptly dropped. I remember Dufa and Snotra being suspicious of him on day one. They dropped the case against him in favour of Mursi on night one though. You think the vig would have claimed to get Wilhalm lynched? If Wilhalm was protected, it could mean the SK targeted him last night. It would still not lead us to the SK though. So, why are you suggesting the protector comes forward? Also, if the SK targeted Wilhalm and he was protected, that would make last night's kills the Servant's and the vig's. Considering Wilhalm has a small chance of catching the SK and considering he was a likely target for a watcher last night, I doubt the SK would target him though. This is also why I asked how Dagstyrr expected Wilhalm to prove himself last night. Nobody has asked me anything other than saying i'm quiet. Interesting you say "count the Townie corpses for us", I though your scum team could count for themselves. Everyone knows using "us" is a town tell. ( ) I really don't have anything useful to add or I would. If I had any night info, I'd pass it on to someone I trusted, but I don't. You're starting to sound like Wilhalm. I thought of that in a way like the scum team saying "you are ignoring bob and he might pick up that". Before I forget: Baulf's contributions are useless and yours aren't any better.
def Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Do you still think Mursi was desperate to keep votes off of Sisco by ignoring such vital insight to Petr's psyche? No. It appears he was just plain old stubborn and bull-headed. Easy to confuse those things though. My apologies, Mursi. Too convenient of you to find issue with this now. You had no issue with it because it was a townie thing to do, and you voted along with that. Nobody was under any obligation to follow it, and they were welcome to disagree. There were 12 hours to get a split town together. I wasn't suggesting that 24 hours before, 48 hours before, much less at the start of the day (see below). If you want to keep bringing it up, it's reflecting on you. It's pretty clear to me what I was doing. I look forward to when you have time. I will now. Unfortunately, it takes a heck of a lot more time to figure out what you're saying about others whose allegiance I don't know than it is to explain about myself. You honestly think Gofraid was a target for the vig? That's far-fetched. I could think of others more likely (Naemr, for one). He was one of the more active townies. I agree that Jarni would be a good SK target, unlikely to be watched. Wilhalm, did you cure the SK? Yes... More on that. I'm not suggesting we only choose that list to vote from (Dufa) but it's time we all started discussing. That's pretty smart of you, to not restrict the list in the first hours of the day with little to go on. Clever. I would never have thought of that <because you need a sign to tell you what sarcasm is. That wasn't sarcastic, you seem to need it.> Gofraid assumed you were being sarcastic with this. Were you? I was dead serious. I make a lot of talk about reading through the votes, but I can only think of three times when I was able to successfully do so, out of however many times I've been in this situation, and Gofraid made a connection I didn't. I was respecting his efforts. Day three, all dead so far are town, I'd say we look at the people who have been leading the lynches. Said the person who has said and done next to nothing. I suppose you wouldn't suggest looking at some of the people being far quieter than usual and flying under the radar? I have to regretfully acknowledge that Mursi is probably (stubborn, bull-headed) town. I just think it is unlikely that he would put himself out there so far in front on day one except that he was magnetically attracted to Petr. He's lucky Petr didn't choose him instead of Tumi. For today, I want to hear more about -Naemr. I think it's surprising that we couldn't get a lynch. -Wilhalm. His claim is very convenient when there may not even be an SK out there, and if even there is one, that role might not be in the game. -Dagstyrr. Doing nothing much, barely voting, very out of character. -Helga. Repeating accusations of others, looking busy, not actually doing much. -Rurik. He's cagey. Cautioned strongly against reading things into Sigrid's allegiance. Wondering if he's a SK. And a bunch of others. There are only about two that I have a good town reading on.
Hinckley Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Everyone knows using "us" is a town tell. ( ) Everyone also knows the proper way to say it would've been "Will you just sit around and count the Townie corpses for the Town?". That's the Townie way to talk Townie about the Town when the Town is fighting to win the Townie game for the Town. Wasn't that list based on the idea that the Servants were trying to save a possibly scummy Sigrid on day one and trying to get a lynch on Naemr, someone who Gofraid believed to be Einherjar, on day two? Knowing that Sigrid was Einherjar, the Servants had a relatively easy day one and I think it's likely they spread their votes. Ah, gotcha. Vote analysis is not my strong suit.
