dillthepill Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Main theme: The humans have always had fortresses, wheter it's Sentai Fortress or the Golden Tower. But what about the robots? That's what this contest is all about, you are to make a robot fortress. What does it require? The robot fortress requires many things. Firstly, it's size. Your fortress has too be big enough to store at least three full sized battle machines. It is recommended it has a gate, and walls surrounding the fortress. The bigger the better. You can also add optional things, such as turrets and repair bays. If you want, you can make a stronghold for a robot mech, as long as it has the same requirements as the fortress. You also need to have battle machines, at least two of them. One is for the humans and the other is for the robots. They can be crawlers, tanks, full sized mechs, small sized mechs, jets, anything as long as it's 70 or more pieces. This is where a stronghold or repair bay will come in handy, you can put your robot mech in there. You can also make small robot mechs that are for repairing and have some battle features, as long as you build the other two mechs. Also, the fortress and the mechs require a name Pictures: You need to take pictures of your fortress, your battle machines, any of the other features, etc. Post your entry in the entry topic, and if you have more than twenty pics provide a link to it in your Brickshelf gallery. Try not to make the pics any bigger 800 x 600 pixels, as if they are bigger they may be to big to see and might cost you votes. Voting: We will be voting in three different polls. One poll will be best fortress, another for best battle machines, and the last for best overall. Deadline: Be sure to get your entries in by June 1st. Have fun, and could someone pin this for me? Thx. Quote
dillthepill Posted April 20, 2007 Author Posted April 20, 2007 Why isn't anyone entering? Is this too hard for you guys? Quote
zero1312 Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Why isn't anyone entering? Is this too hard for you guys? You know, sometimes it takes time to design and built something that big. ;-) Actually, I've tried to make one but right now I have only enough parts for an outpost rather than a fortress. |-/ Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 I want to enter, but I'm too busy at this time of the year. -ZotS Quote
DJ Force Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Does it have to be real or can we enter with LDraw models? Quote
VBBN Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Crap! I just took mine down! It could hold seven battle machines, one being stricking venom! Oh well, better luck next time. Quote
danomckenna Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 I can still enter right? I'm almost done and it's still June first here for 7 hours... Quote

dillthepill Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 Great entry, I declare you the winner! Quote
Grand Moff Viceroy Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 I wasn't even aware of this, but nice entry indeed. But he is the only contestant. :-P :-P Quote
dillthepill Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 I know, that's because not many could build a fortress. Quote
Corvus Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I vote for him as well. :-D danomckenna, you should make a topic about this. To me, this captures the robot's style well. Quote
Siegfried Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Well, here's my base. Excellent! *wub* Even if there were other entries I bet you would have won anyway! Welcome to Eurobricks. Quote
Timento Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Well, I'm not really a fan of Exo-Force but this really impressed me 8- Quote
Grand Moff Viceroy Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I never thought of it that way, it does! Quote
danomckenna Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Haha, thanks for all the nice comments guys. It's good to be amongst the eurobrick crowd. I've lurked here for a while before posting. Quote
iamded Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 This topic was started ages ago, and when I saw danomckenna was planning to enter his creation, I got excited, but after a while I kind of forgot about this. Now I know you're still here, and I must say this is really fantastic! It suits the robot theme so well. It's got everything a robot base really needs, repair bay, prison, throne room, lots of walls and turrets, and a crusher thingy with a conveyor belt. :-D :'-) I certainly wouldn't mind having this! X-D Your 2 mechs are amazing too, I like that they both have 'hands', I've always preferred that to having weapons attached straight to the wrist. Isn't Mountain Giant the name of the original combination human mech? I prefer your one though. It's much better. Your robot custom mech reminds me of Aero Booster, with the massive jetpack. Awesome job. *y* *y* P.S. Do you have a MOCPages or Brickshelf account? I'd love to see some more of your creations. Quote
danomckenna Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Yeah, I just really liked the name, and since I was using the same sets I figured, why not? I have this old brickshelf gallery up: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=185138 I'll have to upload more pics later. Quote
Graynar Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Hehe, sorry about reviving an old topic, but I also have a small Iron Drone Base: Click the pic to see the folder: Quote
ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Very nice *y* ! The sliding doors remind me of Star Trek :-D Quote
