LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Beautiful vessel! The back of the ship is a masterpiece! Quote
Captain Golden Hook Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 Thanks, thats my favorite part too! Quote
Matthias Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 I would like to see a picture of the deck of ship, if it is possible Quote
Commodore Ariel Brickson Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Very nice ship! At the moment, even if we entered the forum with only one day of difference; you now have a better starting than me... a frigate ! By the crew I must deduce that you are a pirate fan, I'm correct? Good name also . Friendly from Spain, Commodore Ariel Brickson. Quote
Captain Becker Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 very well done Sir! Clever use of minifigure hans as headrailing, I havent seen that technique used often, its very rare as far as I know. Good job in the rigging as well. The only thing that points out a bit is the side galleries at the stern, as they look a bit odd the way they are at this point if you know what I mean, but thats not a problem IMO, im just being silly picky me. As I dont even havent never build a ship before, so its wrong for me to judge. But the ship is very well made. Congrazulations for your new ship Captain. Captain Becker Quote
Captain Golden Hook Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 Thanks! I am a pirates fan, and when will you post your ship? answering commodore Arial Brickson Responding to Matthias: sure, as soon as I can load it to flickr answering captain becker: yea, I agree. But that part was built before I saw other frigates of similar style Answering J9993: Thanks! Sebeus I Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 It's an interesting ship, I noticed the gun ports aren't evenly spread over the broadside, it doesn't really bother me though, is there any particular reason you did that? I love that atlantis decorated stern, nicely done! As I dont even havent never build a ship before, so its wrong for me to judge. Your feedback is very well appreciated nonetheless, besides, you're pretty active in the pirate forum so you have seen quite a bit of ships, you actually have a great deal of experience with ships you could say . Captain Golden Hook Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 Answering Sebeus 1: I did that because I stepped out the width twice (by 1/2) and originally had 5 bricks long for every length segment. I changed it through layering to 6 long everywhere. However, the center section would be way to short unless I made the sections around the middle 4 long. In short, I kind of let the model dictate how it turned out. Thanks, I like the stern too ;P Quote

TheLazyChicken Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 The ship looks really nice! I love how you did the back! It is amazing! Quote
Commodore Ariel Brickson Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I hope to see your entire fleet one day (because I know that you have a redcoat ship)... My own flagship needs sails, but I'm thinking in present it today or tomorrow... becasue in this time I was capable of build two more ships (smaller and not so detailed, but...); so now I have two ships for my fleet and one ship as enemy. Friendly, Commodore Ariel. Quote
Captain Golden Hook Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) I have this great sail material, I would love to give some to you (I Have a lifetime supply of it) , but since you live so far away it probably would cost more in shipping than if you got it yourself. Here is a picture of it: image by captaingoldenhook, on Flickr However I know that there is a tutorial for making custom colored sails. Do you have any ship sets? Edited December 21, 2013 by Captain Golden Hook Quote
Commodore Ariel Brickson Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Unfortunately, I don't have any original Lego ship; at the begining, I will make the sails in paper; because the ships are changing nearly every day... I hope to post my flagship soon... Greetings. Quote
Captain Golden Hook Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 It might be a wise investment to buy some hulls and masts off of Bricklink, I know most of my ships were built on hulls I bought, I only have 2 original sets (the black seas barracuda and the queen Anne's revenge). Quote
Commodore Ariel Brickson Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I don't know how; one time I see the page and my face was something like *huh* . And it's also the problem that it's in dollars, while my currency is the €... Anyway, thanks for the advice. Greetings. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Great stuff - custom made sails, excellent! Quote
Capt. Stabbin Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Great ship! As was said earlier, I really like the Atlantis details you have incorporated in the stern. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] Quote
