The soldiers marched towards the Village of Bryn. Ready to kill and enslave the people of Benoic. It was a hot summer day and the soldiers heard the sound of horses from the forests surrounding the large road through Benoic. Suddenly they were ambushed but could not understand from where the attack was coming. They had the sun in their eyes when they saw him, de Gothia jumping out from a cliff right on to them....

Built for the challenge:"Attack of the Drow" in Avalonia. My first speed build, took my 2 hours.

C&C as always welcome. Still struggling with the photos when shooting inside.

2 hours? Nice!

I certainly don't build anywhere near that fast.... I do wish there were more trees to better give the forested impression from the backstory--but deciduous trees take me forever to build so I understand the exclusion.

I think your photography is top notch here, unless you took a million pictures to get these three, I'm not thinking you're struggling!

This has me wanting to try a speed build, you've produced a fairly minimalist but still very effective work. I like the surprise you've conveyed into the drow's positioning, and the confidence shown in that of DG's men. The sign really makes the build for me though, even if it is way off in the corner, it lets your mind wander to thoughts of where those soldiers had been going, great job.

Thanks guys!

Yes some more trees could have worked but I thought that they would hide the soldiers from Benoic to much!

One of the troubles I have with trees.

Very good landscaping, enough to provide a good scenery without obscuring the action in focus. Would not mind seeing more "speed builds" like this from you :classic:

Regarding the photography I think the lighting is quite good (bounced flash I assume?), but maybe a tad too strong on the top side of the bricks? An idea to get a more diffuse light could be to spread the light from the flash out more, perhaps using some "frosty" plastic or a thin sheet of white paper in front of the flash?
