mifody Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 We continue the review of novelties 2014. This time the photoreview of a set of the City series 60043 Prisoner Transporter is submitted to your attention. General information: Theme - City Subtheme - Police Year released - 2014 Pieces - 196 Minifigs - 3 RRP - £17.99 / US$24.99 Price per piece - 9.179p / 12.750c Age range - 5 - 12 The box has the following sizes - 260х190х60 mm - the standard size for City 2014 sets on RRP. On the back party functional and game features of a set are represented. Face parties of a box: As scale the minifig of the police officer in a new form and a peak-cap is chosen: Having opened a box, we find there: - two numbered packages with details - stickers and instruction The instruction - quite stoutish book in 80 pages. At the end sets of 2014 are represented. At a set there are interesting details: In a set of only 3 minifigs - 2 bandits and 1 police officer. - the bandit No. 1 - he helps the prisoner with escape. He is dressed in a leather jacket and gloves. It is armed by the fomky. Torsik is ornamented from 2 parties. - the bandit No. 2 - it the prisoner. He is dressed almost standardly - a gray hat, a striped shirt and gray trousers. But under a shirt there is still a beige t-shirt. In order that the prisoner didn't run away, to him the weight is fastened. The weight absolutely round, without grooves for fastening. - the police officer - is dressed in a new form, with drawing from 2 parties. Also it has a new peak-cap. In a form it is similar to that that was in collection minifigures of the 9th series (71000), but is a little higher. And therefore looks a little clumsily. We will compare to a collection minifig: Comparison of peak-caps: All minifigs of a set: We pass to set assembly. At the beginning we collect the ATV. The design of the ATV is very simple. After assembly we find out that on the ATV there is no place for hook fastening. Now we assemble the truck for transportation of prisoners. Feature of a design is that there is no uniform basis for this model. Truck basis the completely assembly! And the roof over the driver also gathers, instead of is executed by a uniform detail. After assembly there are very many extra-details: And so the set is built: As you can see, for the police officer of doors didn't make. To put him for a wheel, it is necessary to remove a roof. But for the prisoner made huge gate! In general from a prison compartment of the truck there are already 5 exits: - back lattice door - doors between the camera and the driver - folding roof - two jumping aside windows with lattices In the camera there is a lot of place, but it isn't rationally used. Truck from all directions: And now I will show you the game moment with escape function through jumping-out windows with lattices: Finally some more general photos of all set: Result: this truck - the best model for transportation of prisoners that Lego had - the excellent appearance, an interesting and qualitative design, is a lot of game and the funtsionalnykh of features in a set. PS:Excuse for my bad English! Quote
xinbei Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Thank you for the review! The minifigures are nice! Quote
Only Sinner Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Thanks for this review. Lots of good photos, too. I think they could have made the truck seat wide enough at the doors to fit two police, and the big door on the back looks rediculous. That needs a serious mod. The ATV only needs to have two clips added to hold the hook and the crowbar the criminal uses. Speaking of the criminal, I really like that leather jacket. I may just get the whole set because I want that excellent torso piece! Quote
mifody Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 Thanks for your comments. I am glad that you liked my review. I changed the truck a little. I remade lateral faces - now there is no function of breaking of a lattice by means of a hook, but for that the van became more real. It was necessary to think over back doors. Quote
mifody Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 I remade a van door. I added mirrors of a side view. The final version looks so: I wait for your comments! Quote
baron Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 i don't know how to feel about the new police caps! after 30 years of the classic one! Quote
dr_spock Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Thanks for the review. It's interesting that the policeman has no gun but has ammo clip holders on his uniform. The truck windshield looks useful for train locomotive MOCs. Quote
legobear Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Great pictorial review. I love how many photos you took - it shows off the model very well. I think your mod is great. You closed all the escape hatches so that the prisoner can't run away : ). Why are mods always better than the actual product? : ) The sliding doors are awesome. Quote
tonif430 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 We also have this set. Love your customization!!!! Quote
TWO2SEVEN Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 The new back door you added looks much better and more realistic. Good work! Quote
