Righty Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) This is my Winter Village entry for the annual competition. This small set shows the nativity play located in (LEGO) Bethlehem. The Child was born under the star in the holy (brick)night...:) http://flic.kr/s/aHsjPUrPVx Happy New Year for you all! Edited January 1, 2014 by Righty Quote
Rick Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Thanks for entering the competition. I'm sorry but we're going to have to be strict - as we've been here - and only allow minifig or minidolls outside of the 16x16 stud base. So, please change your pictures accordingly. Quote
Righty Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 Dear Rick! I really appreciate that you like my creation. I have carefully read the rules, I still don't see where it says that minifigs cannot be placed on the base. If you take your time you will see many other entries where minifigs are placed on the base. This scene shows the birth of the small Jesus. So I also cannot modify on the Holy Bible, where you can read that the Child was born inside the haye and not outside. Thanks for your understanding! Quote
Paperballpark Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) Righty, you're misunderstanding what Rick is saying - he's not saying that minifigures can only be outside the 16x16 square. He's saying that only minifigures can be outside the 16x16 square. So nothing else can be outside the square, which means your camel and cow cannot be outside the 16x16 square. Very nice entry though! Edited December 31, 2013 by Paperballpark Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I think he means that the animals can't be outside the base... As in, only minifigs can be outside, but they can also be inside. Quote
Rick Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Indeed. What I was trying to say is that the only thing that's allowed outside of the 16x16 base are minifigs (of course they can also be included on the base itself). In your case the animals should be removed or placed on the baseplate. Quote

Righty Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 OK, understood. I will modify on the animals and replace the photos. Poor camel...:( Thanks for your comments! Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Great first Christmas scene....hope you fix the problem 'Rick' pointed out, good luck and Brick On 'Righty' ! Quote
greg3 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I think this this a beautiful little scene and would be great just as a Christmas decoration. I especially like the star design you've used and the use of the turban as baby Jesus!! Excellent work! Quote
LukeWarmTea Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Hi! I saw this in the voting list and I thought I'd check it out; I have to ask, why is Mary cross looking?! Quote
