Wellington and the British squares:

Whenever the English infantry was threatened by the French cavalry, they formed a square to protect themselves.

Four ranks deep, vulnerable to artillery or infantry, but deadly to cavalry.

My British regiments in square formation:

Arthur Wellesley, The duke of Wellington: Commander of the allied army in the Peninsular.

The regimental colors are kept near the center of the square for protection:

French Cuirassiers and Hussars are preparing to attack the British square:

French Cuirassiers: The elite heavy cavalry, serving as the shock troops of the cavalry of Napoleon.

French Hussars: These fast, light cavalrymen were the eyes, ears and egos of Napoleonic armies.

They regarded themselves as the best horsemen and swordsmen (beau sabreurs) in the entire Arm

Awesome. What a nice phototshoot this is, Napoleonic minifigures parading though the great outdoors. I love the flags too.

I can't wait for that huge Jena diorama; nudge nudge, wink wink, know what I mean? :)

This is really neat! What a great photoshoot and arrangement of all the figs. Towards the end, I thought you were going to post a picture of the front firing.

Great job! And beautiful flags too.

You know you could have just edited your other post.....anyway, I've been hunting and I can't find that flag either....even the allmighty Napflags does not have it. 8-| :-P

What's that flag with the red shield on it? Or what/who does it represent?

As Norrington already indicated, those are the regimental flags of the British army.

The one you mention is the 2nd Battalion 69th (South Lincoln) Foot Regiment (if I read the number correct from the pict, because I'm currently not at home).

You're certainly not skimping on the details Mr Bonaparte, but you still haven't told me how many mini-figures you've got here!

I've got 138 Imperial Guards, 4 Officers and 1 Wellington.

Nice.

After doing some research I have realized that this torso is very fitting for Wellington, and your current torso, not so much.

You might be right. I will try the torso you suggest.

The reason I took the blue uniform is because that was the uniform that Wellington was wearing in the Sharpe-series during the Peninsular war. But I must admit that I didn't verify it elsewhere.

Maybe I'll need to design a custom uniform for Wellington.

So the blue Calvary mini-figure is your Wellington?

That's him!

So what's happening with the Governor's house?

I still need to start with the interior. I'm a bit lazy these days :-D

But with the recent good weather in Belgium I wanted to do something outside. That's why I made these pictures of my English army.

So that explains it! All Belgium's has been vacationing to America! Between last Sunday and Monday my town got almost nine inches of rain. X-D

That's how Wellington would look with the red torso:

Any time, Mr. Phred!

So you just had the torso handy, huh? I really like it, much better than the blue with the "US" belt buckle. However, I'm contemplating whether white pants would have a better effect.
