When the situation between Avalonia and Nocturnus was at the peak, Artorious sent his armies to Nocturnus to learn them a lesson. The conflict was soon over and the Avalonians withdrawn their forces rather quickly. However some of the Avalonians defence structures built for the upcoming war was left. And in one of those Murgol took his seat.

Murgol, a insane man who loved to capture kids and keep them as live paintings was back. He fled the whole war scene with his loyal guards to Rakath Mountains. Soon he swore his life to the Black Spire and started to serve his new leader. An old Avalonian watchtower in Rakath Mountains became his. He soon turned it in to his own style...

The tower was situated near the Blood Lake. From the mountain a red slimy mass was pouring out and down to the lake. No one knew what the slimy mass was but Murgol heard that the mountain took the life and souls of the people foolish enough to enter it´s paths.

- Master, look!

- Ha, some Varlyrian Guards trying to the shortest road home and risk their lifes for it... see they even brought a horse to these narrow and small paths, Murgol replied.

- Should we warn them about the mountain?

-No, let them enter and we shall se if they are brave enough to pass it!

My first attempt on sideway rock works and my first attempt on Nocturnus...

C&C most welcome!

Nice bloody water, but sometimes certai algea can be responsible for this water color too. All in all really gloomy, but why I wonder is why the horse doesn't shy away from that ...

Great work de Gothia - the rock work is lovely and those two rock sections in the lake that are set at an angle really add a nice touch to the rocky impression. You've definitely captured the Nocturnus feels with the red streams flowing in to a red lake. Also the border design it great.

The only thing I can critique would be that second image where there appears to be a line in the middle (perhaps the shadow of the corner of your backdrop?) I think a little bit of editing should get rid of it (and the only reason it really stands out is because of how nice and clean your other images have turned out)

Nice MOC, de Gothia! I love that you didn't use many colours (mainly dbley, dtan, lbley, etc.) and then did a dark red lake. And the tower in which we can see from behind is also lovely .

Thanks for the comments! Glad you liked it!

kabel: actually I tried to make the horse shy away from the blood and the evil in the mountain. Perhaps it didn´t show..

Emma: You are so right! Have to think of that the next time!

The rock work and the cascade are very eye catching, and the round tower is something I will like to try on my next ones and have to thank you for showing it so well, hope you dont mind if I copy your design.

By the way that is a hell lot of blood.

I don't know how I had missed this (well actually I think I know since I was busy getting my entries posted in time, and there so many entries in challenge I that I still havn't gone through them all yet...).

Anyway, I really like this build of yours (as usual). The idea of the cutaway tower and the "water" looks great as well!

Heads on spikes seems to be a very common Black Sprire sign, almost more recognizeable than black and white flags

The part I'm not as fond of is the cutaway flat rock at the edge below the tower, which I think seems a bit too "ad hoc" with its vertical lines. I think it would have been improved by either a discreet overlapping brick pattern or even better if there had been some subterranean color difference to the rock.

Excellent work with the heads on pikes, the river of blood, the hanging skeleton, the border - very Nocturnian! I like the cutaway tower as well and the rockwork is very well done. Excellent entry!
