Hi folks,

after the short teaser last week, I'll today present the Nokka logging trailer with a pneumatic crane.

The realized features are:

separate M-Motor for the mechanical features, which are

turning the crane and

sliding out the rear end

the pneumatic support comes directly form the Unimog.

The pneumatic features are lifting the crane, opening the grippier and the stabilizers...

The trailer is about 72 studs long, 80 studs if the rear end is out.

I know there's still some things to do... Mainly stabilizing the whole construction...

For one issue I really need the help of you guys! I tried to implement a turnable gripper. The mechanics work, but it's too much gearing an so it won't work. My thoughts now go in pneumatic turning. I only need 90°... Do you have an idea how to realize this?

Thanks...

And have fun watching the pictures. A video will come tomorrow...

Thanks...

@alasdair: hmmm, I thought about it. But without a micromotor, there won't be a chance to realize it. There's too much friction in the whole system to get a mechanical link there. As I already mentioned it regarding the turnable gripper.

@unimog123: I' post some more pictures tonight...

I like how the trailer extends, but I was unable to watch the entire video because it kept freezing. And my computer hasn't had any problems with watching videos before. Anyway nice job with the trailer!

Thanks... hmmm, strange, maybe, because it's "only" dropbox and not youtube...

Has anyone a clever idea how to turn the gripper with pneumatics?

Thanks again...

Has anyone an idea for the turnable gripper and a pneumatic extendable arm?

Hi folks,

one and a half year ago I built this trailer, but since it wasn't really sturdy I decided to rebuild the whole structure...

I changed the gearing and added some new features. First of it's some kind of self propelled and has a pneumatic operated towing bar...

All in all it's much more fun to play with...

Here some photos of the new version:
