Posted February 23, 201411 yr Hi Falks, I am Gilles, I am 41 and came out of my dark age only last year when one of my colleague offered me a planet series set (TIE interceptor and Death Star). I stopped playing Lego a while ago when I was around 15 years old I think but always had a look at what Lego was doing and especially the star wars licence. Giving my age, I am of course an OT fan :-) and started to purchase OT sets from March last year: Millenium Falcon 7965, X-wing, A-wing, Y-wing, TIE, some Endor battle set (x2). The only exception to the OT was getting the AT-TE (imperialized with black bricks to replace the dark red bricks) as a christmas present from my wife. Who thinks I am silly, but still loves me. Hopefully :-). I purchased few days ago a MISB Tantive IV for 200€ which seems to be a descent price in here in old Europe. I love this ship, had very good time building it. I alredy added a retractable landing gear! But my favorite ship is definitely the Y-wing. So I decided to customize it a bit. So let me share few pictures with you. Sorry for the low quality of the below pictures. Cockpit (yes Luke in a Y-wing!) Retractable Landing gear (front and rear but still not satisfy with rear): Bottom view: Removed flick fire missiles and thinner engine supports (please don't look at the diorama, this is a WIP) And finally a side view: Gil Edited June 15, 201410 yr by Geebee
February 23, 201411 yr Hello and welcome to Eurobricks. I really like all the little modifications you have done to the Y-Wing, you fixed the problems about the set. (Besides the curse of stickers, which I doubt anyone can) The pictures you have taken aren't bad at all, in fact they are pretty good. Hope you have a great time on Eurobricks and coming back out of your dark ages.
February 24, 201411 yr Good work with the mod, there Gilles. Looking forward to those Star Wars MOCs from you in the future.
February 25, 201411 yr Author Thanks Only Sinner. Looking at the amazing Mocs I see on this forum, I will probably humbly focus first on modding the sets I have ;-).
