-DoNe- Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 [pid]S-PS22-15D[/pid] Here she is! My very first ship in two years. I've had the armada flagship hull laying around since I bought it (only the hull) 2-3 years ago and I finally found the insiration to build something with it. It was a truly challenging build due to how narrow the pre-fab hull is. But I think I where able to pull it of in the end. This also happens to to be my very first Brig, Gallery Hope ya'll like it and have a great day! Quote
Sebeus I Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Nicely done, it was about time you did another ship . Personally I think it's a bit narrow for a brig, a schooner sail plan would work great (and maybe not even too much trouble to alter it now as a schooner can also have two masts). I'm not a big fan of the yellow on the headrails but that's just me. Great job on the SNOT deck and those costum cannons look quite nice. Keep up the good work . Quote

I wasn't sure whenever she would look good as Brig or not, that's why I made the sails out of paper, and I agree with you, she is a bit small. So I will definitely try to convert her into schooner. Do you recon that a set-up similar to this would look good?: http://brethrencoast.com/ship/schooner.jpg As for the yellow headrails - I'am open for suggestions Quote
Sebeus I Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 ... Do you recon that a set-up similar to this would look good?: http://brethrencoast...ip/schooner.jpg Oh yes, definitely . A sail plan like that would really enhance the look of a very fast vessel. As for the headrails... Dark blue would my my intïutive choice but light grey could work very well too (and is easier to come by). Perhaps yellow would still work if you raised the headrails a bit so they don't clash with the white hull, the yellow on the stern works well for example because it only covers a blue surface. Quote

Well dark blue won't happened in the near future and I don't now if I like the thought of LG to much but the third option definitely sounds good to me! I'll definitely give it a shot! Thank you for your inputs! Quote
mrcp6d Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Dark red might be a good option too instead of yellow. I really like how sleek the topside looks. Quote
yys4u Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Great ship! I really like the decoration on the aft section of the boat. Looked at that ship like 5 times and only now did I realize those were minifig legs sittinthere! [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] Quote

Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted March 11, 2014 Eurobricks Emperor Posted March 11, 2014 Super nice ship, I love it! Spanish Armada is simply one of the best theme's ever. While it lived a short life it's great that MOCs like yours remind us it existed. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Hey, this is beautiful. Great work! Great custom cannons too - good use of this new round plate/brick! Very very nice. Quote

While it lived a short life it's great that MOCs like yours remind us it existed. Thanks a bunch Bonaparte! I definitely agree. My love for the Armada I got from the old "Chess" game that Lego made, and in that game there was a couple of cut-scenes featuring the Armada Flagship set and I have been in love with the Armada sets ever since Hey, this is beautiful. Great work! Great custom cannons too - good use of this new round plate/brick! Very very nice. Thank you very much Captain! Quote
rodiziorobs Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I think the yellow headrails actually look good, but the problem is that there isn't really enough other yellow detailing throughout the rest of the ship, so it looks out of place. Put some other small yellow details--even a couple 1x1 rounds--and it would help tie it all together IMO. Love the rest of the ship, though. Fantastic work. Quote
