Tobias_Jay Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Our cries have been answered! I can't wait for this game! Quote
ShadowWolfHount Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 It's good that we are getting another Ninjago Game but the sad thing is that I do not have a Nintendo 3DS nor a PlayStation®Vita. I hope they make a Ninjago Game on console and PC (Steam) some day. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 YES! Totally getting this one. A bit disappointed it's only the new season though. Quote

I hope they make a Ninjago Game on console and PC (Steam) some day. Some advice. Keep a very keen eye on sales for 2DSes. I have never played a game where the 3D was beneficial on my 3DS. The 2DS is a very nice alternative, and has no spec differences from the ordinary 3DS (besides the 3D capabilities). This being relevant, of course, only if you have the funds. On a different note, I have been waiting for a Ninjago game that follows the storyline of the show for ages! I'm hoping that, if they plan on releasing games for the movie, that it will include the rest of the show as well! Quote
Lego Spy Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) Interesting, but... Dem graphics tho. Some advice... BlueberryWaffles Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Looking at the cover again, thinking that Nindroids was like a subtitle. Like this is a sequel. Then I remembered. Oh, but it is. But we shall never speak of that garbage. Quote
Aanchir Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Looking at the cover again, thinking that Nindroids was like a subtitle. Like this is a sequel. Then I remembered. Oh, but it is. But we shall never speak of that garbage. LEGO Battles: Ninjago wasn't as bad as the graphics made it look. The reason it used simple sprites instead of more complex graphics is because as with LEGO Battles before it, it needed to be able to handle lots of independent characters and structures at any given time, and more advanced graphics would have cut down on that ability. Contrast the usual LEGO games, which are action games rather than strategy games, and don't usually have to handle any more characters than what you see on the screen (not to mention are often on more powerful systems than the Nintendo DS). I'm glad this new game has better graphics than LEGO Battles: Ninjago, but even if that game looked like a game made over a decade ago, those graphics belied a pretty decent game that had a lot of thought put into it. It even more or less followed the events of the official story, albeit with some key differences (the floating ruins in particular resemble the vast ancient cityscape described in the books more than the single narrow column portrayed in the TV episode). Starrocks923 Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) When I saw the no art, I got really, really excited. When I saw the screenshots, I almost barfed. LEGO Battles Ninjago might not be known for its visuals, but I would gladly take a sequel to it or a Ninjago version of Laval's Journey over this kind of gameplay. You have to restart the ENTIRE LEVEL if you die! The levels are about three minutes long. There's no hub. You can't switch to a team-mate, except to unleash some kind of explosion. I can tell because this is just like the LEGO Marvel Superheroes and LEGO Movie portable versions. Correct me if I'm wrong, but every gameplay feature I love about the portable games from 2007-2013 are out the window. Edited March 26, 2014 by Starrocks923 Quote
jamesster Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 It's Hellbent Games doing this, not Traveller's Tales or TT Fusion, and their previous three LEGO games have all been quite different than TT's formula(s). At the very least, I'm glad to see Hellbent Games continuing to work with LEGO as it means there's a possibility of getting even more unique games from them in the future. As for this game - I'm not sure if it's possible (or at least a good idea) to judge the entirety of the gameplay from so few screenshots. I'll wait to see it in action before ranting or raving. I did enjoy the LEGO Battles games, but I'm not sure if I'd want another one if it would be a handheld exclusive again, and Hellbent Games seems to be sticking to handheld exclusives when it comes to LEGO stuff. I'd like to see another LEGO RTS, but for more technically capable systems (PC, maybe consoles). Preferably with modding support to extend the life of the game, if the revival of Rock Raiders for PC through modding is anything to go by. And how about a modernized LEGO racing game of some sort? Ah, but I'm dreaming again. Quote

PenPlays Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 I only wish they remade Lego Universe! Despite the game being content riddled and all over beautifully designed, Lego's advertising on the matter wasn't very good. Their subscription plan was also out of the question for the target audience to afford. Even though the problem with the game was the latter portion of the above, they refuse to do the same thing with its aesthetics simply because it "failed." If only they lowered their subscription rates and opened the game a bit more for the Free to Play mode. It would have been glorious to watch it last! When I saw the screenshots, I almost barfed. You do understand that this is a game developed for handhelds by a company that doesn't have the same resources as, say Nintendo themselves, right? Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 ARGH... Why not make a Computer one too?! It's like they don't want our money! Quote

Tobias_Jay Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 EB Games has the game up for preorder. It cost $49.95 AUD and comes out July. I hope, but at the same time doubt, that they have a preorder bonus. Quote
PenPlays Posted June 6, 2014 Author Posted June 6, 2014 It looks like our beloved characters will be taken on by different voice actors... less skilled ones in my opinion. The game looks fantastic, however!! Quote
Aanchir Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Hmmm, I guess it was probably a cost-saving venture. I agree the new voices are nowhere near the caliber of what we see in the TV show, but it probably wouldn't ruin the game for me. Quote
PenPlays Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 (edited) Did we ever find out a date? In my being knee-deep in Nintendo games, not even I found out. Apparently it's already out! Edited July 30, 2014 by Penkid11 Quote
DuckBricks Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 If there is going to be a movie next year... One can hope... I'd think there'd definitely be a game... Esp. With the movie out Quote
Cagast Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 There has to be a game based on the movie! Quote
