(Mods: Feel free to move this to the Future Simpsons Set topic if you don't think it deserves it's own)

Ok, so the Simpsons CMF line was just revealed. Obviously a lot of characters are missing, but that happens when you have a cast of secondary and background characters that numbers in the HUNDREDS at this point. Everyone who is a fan has their "Aww why didn't they include [name of your favorite character]?"

Ok, so, let's say this line sells really, really well and LEGO decides to do a second CMF series. What sixteen characters do YOU want to see in it?

Here's my realistic wish list. 'Realistic' because from a business standpoint LEGO will want to include new variations of the core family members (and re-use their molds) so the line wouldn't be ALL background characters. I mean, I'd personally love a line of nothing but background characters, but your average consumer is going to want to buy characters they are familiar with, so more Barts, Homers, Marges, and Lisas. Left off Maggie since I think we've seen her two basic variations in the show already.

1. Bartman w/ cape and comic book tile or slingshot

2. Homer in his underwear and drool face w/ either can of Buzz Cola (no Duff ever in LEGO form, sadly), can of Gum & Nuts, or can of cat ear medication

3. Lisa in church clothes (couldn't think of a better Lisa variation, feel free to suggest one)

4. Marge in church clothes (again, couldn't think of a better variation, feel free to suggest one)

5. Comic Book Guy w/ comic book tile

6. Moe

7. Snake w/ gun and money bag

8. Cletus

9. Moleman w/ cane

10. Smithers

11. Willie w/ rake

12. Sideshow Bob w/ knife (or rake)

13. Dr. Hibbert w/ syringe and x-ray tile (or in a world without copyright issues: a MASH coloring book).

14. Sherri/Terri (would need to buy two of the same fig to complete the set)

15. Kang/Kodos w/ How to Cook For Humans book and ray gun

16. Bumblebee Man w/ small dog

And who would have made the list if the four family members weren't on it:

1. Lenny

2. Carl

3. Mrs. Krabappel w/ test tile (Bart's from the episode "Bart Gets an F")

4. Martin

Wildcard option:

- Poochie w/ surfboard. Because it would be beyond funny if LEGO wasted a spot on him and fit the sarcastic humor of the show.

It was tough narrowing it down and a lot of characters STILL got left on the cutting room floor. Honestly they could do ten series and there would still be characters left out.

So, what would your hypothetical series 2 look like?

Yeah that's true the figure could just be Sherri/Terri and they could come with a jump rope

1. Homer in bathrobe - Santa's Little Helper

2. Marge in pink Chanel dress - Snowball II

3. Bart Ninja - crowbar, lootbag

4. "Cool" Lisa - school yearbook, shell

6. Pattie - Selma's head

7. Groundskeeper Willie - rake, bagpipes

8. Smithers - Mr. Burns Portrait on a tile, gun

13. Carl - Donut, mug

14. Lenny - pretzel, mug

I would pick:

1. Underwear Homer, includes Duff soda (They could put that it's Duff, but call it soda in the description)

2. Church clothes marge, includes hymnal.

3. Bartman, includes another Radioactive Man comic.

4. Lisa - Cool variant. Would require a new mold for the helmet, includes yearbook.

5. Maggie - Daughter of Kang, with squid legs.

6. Jasper Beardley, includes tile with pills printed on it, cane.

7. Kent Brockman, includes cowboy hat with camera printed on it, microphone.

8. Lenny - includes tiles with '3' and '2' on them, from opening sequence.

9. Carl - includes cup.

10. Comic Book Guy - Includes yet another Comic book, squishee.

11. Mrs. Krabappel, includes Bart's test with 'F' and an apple. The apple could possibly be double coloured, judging by Wiggum's megaphone.

12. Principal Skinner, includes list of students from Yellow Subterfuge and the Friends toothbrush reused as a pen.

13. Moe, includes beer mug (but they call it root beer, of course), rag.

14. Fat tony, includes hood ornament and gun.

15. Professor Frink, includes vial.

16. Sideshow Bob, includes rake (duh).

PattY and Selma would have to be different because they have different colored dresses. And where's Eddie?

Posted

Maybe there could be two different colored fabric skirts included for Patty and Selma? With no other accessories I don't think that's too much to include.

Eddie is in with a group of about 20 other characters I'd like to have.

At least dreaming is free.

I wrote in the order they came in my mind and I went to 16 too soon. There are so many caracters in so many form! Okay, if I leave out the Simpson family (they appeared once after all) there are space for Lenny and Carl, Patty and Selma.

To be realistic, as said there are two issues to be solved. One is the possible chances for more licenses of CMF, the other is the annual production schedule of CMF series. Before those, I don't think a second series makes sense, same for another TLM series (not talking about its sequel movie). The common way how we get characters should be getting regular sets.

My vote:

1.Professor Frink with lab coat, printed calculator tile and maybe the beaker element (perhaps in a new color)

2.Groundskeeper Willie with kilt (similar to the previous bagpiper) and rake accessory.

3.Dr Hibbert with doctor coat/printed stethoscope, tongue depressor (as printed 1 x 2 tile most likely) and maybe printed x-ray or some other printed tile (or maybe needle)

4.Lionel Hutz with suit, briefcase and printed 2 x 2 tile with some sort of generic legal stuff on it

5.Kang/Kodos with ray gun and "how to cook humans" book

7.Otto with bus driver getup, printed "bus driver license" tile and maybe electric guitar or printed music player tile.

Cant think of any others I would like to see right now.

I cant see any character primarily associated with alcohol (e.g. duffman or barney or moe) or any character primarily associated with guns and violence (e.g. fat tony or that texas guy who is always shooting into the air) being made by LEGO, it wouldn't fit with LEGOs philosophy. Same with lovejoy or anyone directly associated with religion (Flanders is different since his 2 appearances to date have been totally non-religious

I think you're right about Barney, Moe and Duffman being out, and quite likely Rev. Lovejoy. I further think Patty and Selma might be out as well, since their primary distinguishing characteristic is that they both smoke like chimneys.

Professor Frink is my #1 choice, mm-hley. I simply must have him.

Fat Tony wouldn't be a problem. They already made a non-licenced gangster, complete with gun, for series 5.

Actually a Reverend Lovejoy figure would be a good method of introducing a priest minifig torso, which could be used for non-Simpsons MOCs. I might actually buy one then, as I only buy licensed figures if they can be used in a 'normal' Lego City environment. I don't wish to start a lengthy "Lego won't make religious figures" discussion but just thought that as he is an existing character of a theme they have a license for then consequently this would be more possible than before.

Now if only there was a licensed theme with a nun...

I would definitely love a 2nd series of Simpsons figures. Hopefully these ones:

Sideshow Bob

Smithers

Principle Skinner

Mrs Krabappel

Grounds Keeper Willie

Otto

Comic Book Guy

Moe

Snake

Lenny

Carl

Barney

Mayor Quimby

A big no thank you to Simpsons sets for me. I will collect every CFM Simpsons series there is, because 1 figure for $4 is fine, 5 figures for $40 or 7 figures for $120 is no longer doable for me. I really hope the licenced CMF lines are just begining.

Not really an idea for a future series, but I would've preferred prof. Frink and the comic book guy in the current series over Itchy and Scratchy, mostly because they're actually proper people in the show, and they might fit in better...
