Ninja Nin Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 My entry to the Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka : Episode IV [ The Last Duel ] Sector E : Weapon Storage Creating a distraction to aid the escape of the prisoners, I was tasked to penetrate into the core of the prison facility and sabotage the heat exchanger, which the Imperial used for the heat energy source harvested from the unlimited amount of lava flow. On our way back, passing through the weapon storage, we encountered Nom Carver, the leader of this episode of the strike force based in Sullust. Such surprise attack delayed our escape, and the explosives we planted at the core caused a huge destruction to that area. Lava flooded into the room, destroying everything on its way. We were stuck, trapped by both the Imperials and the lava. In order to escape, I must fight against Nom Carver..... our last duel begins .... LucasLaughing tried to get to higher ground. TWP helped our new member, nematode Complete vignette Will I die ? Will this be my last moment in SoNE ? Hope you like it ! Quote
goatman461 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Very cool, funny too. I think the rifles touching the lava should be lit up in red instead of green, since they are no longer "ready to go." Beautiful work. Quote
Nom Carver Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 "Ninja Nin, your reputation precedes you, but this will be the end of your career, let this be our final battle" I was looking forward for your entry "Ninja Nin", and I have to say thats up to my expectations, and thanks for featuring me into it, I look great falling into the lava . (are you actually going to kill me? thats not the rebel way ) Quote
VK-318 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Does it count as a fair episode build if it's based on one of ours? Nice one, Ninja Nin, I see an interesting subplot coming. Now you and Nom Carver need to come up with the freebuilds to explain how you escape! Quote
TWP Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Great build Ninja Nin! I love the lava flow! I did not knew you could surf! I like that you included me Nice story by the way, did you make that up all by yourself? Quote
Lord Tyrus Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Noooooooooo! Nom Carver can't die! I love how the lava spills into the weapons room! Quote
Donnie Bricko Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Excellent work. I love the action and suspense you've created. The build is great too Quote
LucasLaughing Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Wow, amazing build - you do a great job portraying the action! For some reason, this reminds me of the original Half-Life computer game... Quote
Rogue Angel Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Great build! I love the way the lava is flowing into the room and spilling out across the floor. I also really like the story and the large apparatus tilting on the left side of the room. Obviously, Nom Carver is in a lot of trouble here... Quote
Kaitan Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Lots to love here That lava is awesome! Gotta get me some more trans red cheeses! The "floating" equipment, the floor breaking up, everything is very well executed! Quote
LegoFjotten Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Super build Ninja Nin! I really like the way the lava spills onto the floor, the angled weapons rack you are fighting on and the tower thingie which is falling over! Only two minor suggestions (not sure they would be improvements or not but I'll share them anyway ): Maybe a little more yellow in the lava, and maybe a different base since there is already so much lava in the scene. Quote
BEAVeR Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 That happens when you start placing explosives on the heat exchanger for absolutely no good reason! Stupid Rebels... ... but at least, they still build very good. The lava is obiously the stong point here. The subtle color changes, the texture (nice to include those radar dishes), the viscous look... it looks especially great when out of focus, like in the 4th picture. In some places you tried to make the border less angled, and it would've been nice to see this continued throughout the border of the lava. Those spots of black are really nice too, but maybe I would have liked to see some more of those dark crusts, because now I have the feeling the lava is really dominating the whole scene, which makes it look a bit like a mess (meaning: it's difficult to look at something else... it's hard to get my head aorund it...). All that orange cheese neer the border is a nice addition, although I agree with LegoFjotten about it only adding to the already huge amount of orange. If you really want to, maybe something more brown would make for a nicer border. I really like the way the lava spills to that gaping hole in the wall though, and those little eruptions make the scene more dynamic. But of course, there's more to this build than lava. There's an entire Imperial base to look at! I absolutely like all the tubes tucked into the walls, and those relief bricks make for some subtle variation. My favorite parts are all dark grey though. Those horizontal stripes look gorgeous, and maybe it would've been nice to see them run all around the room. Those pillars are nice and simple as well, and it's great to see that crate piece used in this way. Finally, the actual armory looks very practical and well arranged, and I appreciate the effort to make some custom cannons. Then there's that thing you're surfing on, battlinng the mighty Nom Carver! What a suspense! But that ... thing is probably my least favorite part of the build; It's not clear to me what it function is... was, so it looks more like a convenient surfing board then something that actually belonged to that place, thus making sense to be there. Still, this very nice builds deserves lots of praise, so I leave you with my appreciation of that one part of damaged floor. Quote
