LegoFjotten Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Sullust... I really hated the place. With thick, toxic air, and a strong stench of sulphur it didn't really have much going for it. Unfortunately that was where our mission was. We had crashed a decoy shuttle a short distance from the Imperial base, and they took the bait. Two Stormtrooper squadrons had been sent to investigate, making our job at the base easier. SoNE Ep. IV by LegoFjotten, on Flickr Infiltration went surprisingly smooth, and once on the inside we split up into units to carry out our individual missions... SoNE Ep. IV by LegoFjotten, on Flickr My objective was to take control of the main command post & the communication station. I had a couple of troopers with me, as well as an trusty old R2 unit that I was told could help access the computers and take the turrets offline for our evacuation. Hopefully Bob would arrive with his reinforcements and get us safely away once our mission was completed. SoNE Ep. IV by LegoFjotten, on Flickr I had sent Donnie Bricko & Kaitan to the detention block together with Chewbacca. Disguised as Stormtroopers they would pull the old prisoner transfer routine to get inside the cell block and release the prisoners. SoNE Ep. IV by LegoFjotten, on Flickr A small group of our troopers had helped themselves to a tri-pod laser cannon from weapons storage and taken up position in the main hallway. If the Stormtroopers we had lured away returned before we had escaped, they were in for a surprise... SoNE Ep. IV by LegoFjotten, on Flickr SoNE Ep. IV by LegoFjotten, on Flickr To make sure our escape route was clear I stationed three of my commandos guarding the weapons storage and hallway outside the main command post. SoNE Ep. IV by LegoFjotten, on Flickr All the pieces were in place, now we just had to see how it all played out... SoNE Ep. IV by LegoFjotten, on Flickr Quote
Lord Tyrus Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Using Dark Bley boxes / crates for the door is a great idea, never thought of that before, it looks great! The photography is also very good. Unfortunately however, this is another Rebel build! Quote

TWP Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 As I said earlier, this is a brilliant build! Now seeing better pictures makes it even better! I think the rest is too jealous of your build, which makes them not to praise it! Quote
JaseTJ Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 (edited) I see what you did there... Can you guys just judge him on the Communications part and not the cell block? Not that you don't have the best build in the sector even then... ...Wait, an armory too? Ugh... Edited April 18, 2014 by JaseTJ Quote
Dapper-D2 Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 "Everything is Awesome" about sums it up! Fantastic details and your photos always amaze me. I really like the rock and lava flows at the front entrance and radar dish looks cool. The use of the garbage cans for the door is a nice original idea. Top notch work! Quote
BEAVeR Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 (edited) Wait... no hangar bay? I'm dissapointed: you included every single sector, yet o hangar bay? Lame! At least each section you did build is of the highest quality imaginable. The comm station is exceptional. The door is great and very creative. Not only those craes, but every single aspect of the shaping. And then those different consoles: you place all of them tastefully, at angles when appropriate. All the detailed extures in the wall are a very nice touch. The detention block is just as great. Great job on the floor too: you mastered SNOT perfectly. Again the vast variety of decorations and technicalities prove what an impressive builder you are. Same goes for the main hallway. The tubes in the ground, the beams in the ceiling, the mudguards in the doors... even the boxes on the geound... impossible how you keep coming up with all those different decorations. My least favorite is that main gate. Actually not the gate itself (but there isn't a clear picture of that), but more the surroundings. The lava is good, and the way is amazing. But those rocks are a tiny bit simple compared to the rest of e amazing build. But it ony shows you're human, and not some kind of super gifted, defected Lego designer. It only raises my appeciation for your genious. Edited April 20, 2014 by BEAVeR Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Congratulations on another exceptional build! There's plenty of details others have mentioned that look very appealing. My favourite part are the consoles in the comm room and also the black turnatable bases look very nice for the frame. As always, there's a few things I'd change and that are all the exposed studs or antistuds. The two 4x6 plates with greeble on each side could be plated to make a more uniform look with the rest of the build. Also the antistuds around the door and on the wall of the weapon storage bother me a bit. I don't know why, but I always imagined sullust to be brown, so that's another change I'd make to the rockwork. It'd also bring a bit more color to the scene, but as said nonetheless very nice build. I too see what you did there with catching all the different base sections. Well done with that, though another complaint (content vise) might be I find things a bit too crumpled up. It's a base we're talking about after all and not some mini rebel hideout, so I doubt the comm room would be just above the detention room ... Quote
Kaitan Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I think it was a great tactic, covering more than one sector with your build - just what the episode demanded! You already know I think its great, and there are several techniques I am mentally storing away for future builds Quote
LegoFjotten Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 Thanks for the comments guys! As usual I get a little bored with my builds before I'm done so there are some finishing touches missing. Initially I wanted to do a much larger exterior section, but I didn't have the parts for it. There are a couple of places where I would like to get rid of the studs/antistuds but just couldn't do it. The ones in the greebling sections are just laziness though. Quote
