Aredhel Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Hello all!!! After ages, I just finished my biggest work ever. You might know it from earlier threads... Let's start!!! :-$ :-$ This is a little animation of a poor pirate who is going to be roasted! 8-| After this little shock for you, pirates, here the rest of my MOC-review: First of all, I wanna show you an overall view of the MOC. In the middle you can see the lookout tower, which was the very first thing of this MOC. At the back, there is a throne of the Islanders-chief. At the left, there is the rosting-pirates-detail I showed you above. In the back of this scene you can see a little Islanders home (you will see it in detail later on). On the right side there are a few poor pirates beeing bound to poles, and a woman sitting in a cage! Now to the details: First of all, I will show you the little house I mentioned before: The next detail is the throne of the chief, where the pirate captain has to negotiate with the chief. At the back of the throne you can see dead pirate-skeletons. What I wanna show you next are the poles and the cage, where the pirate bride and some of the crew are there until the negotiation between the captain and the chief is finished. Here is a pic of the lookout tower: And finally I wanna show you, what kind of minifigs and how many parts I used for that MOC 8-o ... Hope you liked it! Gallery already moderated! PS: There is nothing I want to say against pirates... This MOC just grew like this :-$ -Aredhel Quote
DoubleT Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Very very good, great details, must have taken a looong time? Funny bits also, you have the talent to build good good Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 21, 2007 Governor Posted May 21, 2007 There's nothing like a good pirate roasting to free him from his mortal body X-D Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted May 21, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted May 21, 2007 The overall looks of this MOC are impressive. This must be one of the biggest Islander MOCs that exist. But considering all the details that are everywhere, makes this MOC even better. I like this a lot Aredhel!!! Quote
Asuka Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 What a wonderful village for all these beautiful Islanders.... great work! *y* The proportions and size of that MOC Quote
El Bucanero Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 I'm amazed... The amount of details and the details are stunning! I don't know what to say... Very creative... I especially like the minifig with baby. Mr Tiber Quote

Aredhel Posted May 21, 2007 Author Posted May 21, 2007 I thought that this Islander was carrying a human head from an enemy (maybe to cook it) :'-( . No, this is a baby... And pirate heads are normally not painted in the Islanders face paintings :-P Thank you for all your nice answers. Took really long enough to do this MOC... If you wanna see, I started in October 2006: WIP-Islanders -Aredhel Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 22, 2007 Governor Posted May 22, 2007 This fellow is a very interesting custom... He'd go nicely in Jamtf's Show us your crew! thread. Quote
simonwillems Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 I think you made a very beautiful scene! The WIP-thread already looked promising but the final result blows any Islander MOC away. I notice some yellowing on the white pieces used to make the throne, but in this case the colourvariations fit in just well, never thought yellowing actually could do some good in a model, it makes it look authentic in a way. Only thing I don't really like is the horrible colour of that light-pink bird... That little baby is a great idea, wrapped up against his mothers back. Those poor pirates... Great work *y* Quote
Norro Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 The baby is a brilliant touch. The whole scene is also well done. I'm not sure if I can picture islanders in a walled village, perhaps using some raised cliff would be better? But the overall effect is still very good! God Bless, Nathan Quote

God Bless, Nathan Yes, you are right, but when I started I never knew that it would be as it is/was now. The wall around the village is only to seperate the village itself. I wanted to build a pirate ship into this MOC, too, but this is another project which I will finish this evening. Maybe today or tomorrow you will all see my first pirate ship :-$ -Aredhel Quote

Capn Frank Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Nice MOC *y* There is a lot more detail in this moc now! :) I just have one question though... where is this island so i know to stay far, very far away from these cannibals? P Quote
Aredhel Posted May 24, 2007 Author Posted May 24, 2007 I just have one question though...where is this island so i know to stay far, very far away from these cannibals? P Did not think about that until now. But I think if you behave nice, they can be very nice islanders :-P -Aredhel Quote

ZCerberus Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Very cool, very fun, very playable MOC. Double bonus points for you! Quote
Capn Frank Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Did not think about that until now. But I think if you behave nice, they can be very nice islanders :-P-Aredhel Do they have a particular faction that they're allied with? Doesn't seem like they're too nice to us piratey folks :skel1: Hehehehe, Shiny items could save your life! (sorry, I just had to say that!)Mr Tiber Hmm may have to consider this. Aredhel, do these islanders like clone sabers that are silver, that might buy me enough time to get away if i run into these fellows :-D ;-) P Quote
Aredhel Posted May 24, 2007 Author Posted May 24, 2007 Do they have a particular faction that they're allied with? Islanders allied with someone? Don't think they will ally with anyone :-P Doesn't seem like they're too nice to us piratey folks :skel1: They just did not behave like friends... this pirate folk :-P -Aredhel Quote
Capn Frank Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Islanders allied with someone? Don't think they will ally with anyone :-P Yeah, that sounds about right, i never think of islanders allying with anyone either ;-) They just did not behave like friends... this pirate folk :-P -Aredhel Ok, I'll try to make sure my pirates behave around these guys, Or they may end up like the Black Pearl crew on POTC2. :-D :skel1: P Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Go Islanders Go :-D !! Great MOC Aredhel !! I never thought the final product would look that good !! The structure of the village is really nice but I truly *wub* those neat extras where pirates are mutilated, hanged and what have you !! Too bad I already ate, that bbq is looking good :-D That reminds me: "kiss the cook" ;-) BBQ On !! Yoda Quote
