Lady K Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Hi all. This is my first post and first space MOC. I really hope you like it, C&C welcome. Stanley enjoys returning to his home everyday after work. He has no neighbors, great views, his own garden, water, and power. His three worker robots (he built them himself, he's really good with tools) Huey, Duey, and Luey keep him company as well as assist in repairs and maintenance of the property. The land parcel was cheap, even though the planet has rumored Zentronium in the depths of its crust. Zentronium is a much desired crystal for healing all sorts of ills and is an excellent power source. Stanley likes searching for it on his time off. The water is very refreshing and full of minerals hence the bright aqua blue color. The water provides minerals for his plants, power for the generator, and Stanley suspects the Zentronium is actually in the water, not the crust of Zentron. Commuting to work is easy as he just has a short space hop to the central mining hub of the region. Stanley returning home from work Stanley searching for Zentronium Stanley's Hydrogarden, power generator, and water tank. the roof with lots of "functional" greebling and view of main airlock. And finally the interior. With a small, but functional space for eating, sleeping, cleaning up, storing of space suit and supplies, various gauges and terminals to monitor all pumps and mechanical stuff, and of course space for Huey, Duey, and Luey. Thanks for viewing these. This was a great contest and really fun to build for! Quote
Cecilie Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I'll echo the others here, very nice colorscheme. And a great way to do the hydrogarden . Nice detailing on the roof too Quote
Lady K Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 Thank you. I tried to keep the colors in line with various space themes to represent each one. I hope I didn't leave any one out. The hydrogarden was an idea I've had for awhile, I'm glad it turned out well. The roof was a challenge as I wanted each greeble to connect with some important function of the house. I'm glad you like it. Quote
eurotrash Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 The hydrogarden is very well done and the greebling throughout definitely adds to the overall build. Good luck in the competition! Quote
Balthazar Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Nice base I like hydrogarden and other amazing things! Quote
sioka Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 This is brilliant! The Hydrogarden is spot on also I love your nod to one of the greatest sci-fi films of all time Silent running. Quote
Gary The Procrastinator Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Sweet. I wish I could vote, you'd get some points from me. Love the airlock, garden and that roof greebling. Quote
Zed_43 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I really like your entry! B ut I fond this quite terrestrian looking (like like public work temporary buildings)! There are some really good ideas and really well realized! I especially like the greenhouse! Quote
Lady K Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 Thank you for the nice thoughts. :) In a way it is like a temporary or public works housing because given Stanley's job (and salary) he built what he could afford to with discounted and unwanted materials. :) Quote
Lady K Posted May 15, 2014 Author Posted May 15, 2014 Thanks again for all the nice comments! Thank you to all who voted for this entry! I'm very honored and excited to have been chosen! Quote
