Well, i have taken my priority on the look of the Unimog UHN and not on the offroad abilitys, for this i would need 3 lockable diffs and a shiftable bearbox with many gears. one thing is adequate to the UHN series what tlg could not made, because this would be to expensive to produce.

I Talking about the portal hubs which are in the lego version very large and having a pivot point far away of the wheel, so i made my own.

But this was not enough for me to replicate a proper unimog, so i have made a rim with a deep offset and a realistic look

This all makes a wide and flexible frame in a realistic shape possible.

and like the real frame it is highly flexible

The Gearbox is simple and offers no shifting, what is not really a good decission because a gear reduction of 4,2 to one is not suitable for every situation. For heavy offroad under good grip conditions the torque is not enough.

designing the cab and details is hard to describe so i let the pictures tell the story.

Looks good to me! I like that you used diffs because you can do some light off roading such as the video and have no problems whatsoever. Plus with that flexible chassis the wheels have an easier time staying on the ground. Can't wait for the final video.

It is very surprising what is possible with out difflocks when the tires have a good contact to ground. Look yourself in the final video

The front hub mounts turned out very nice. The flexible frame looks great, and the body work turned our perfectly. What a great rendition.

Hi Efferman,

As I can see you're using only one gear reduction on the steering. I always have problems setting the gears to be able to drive straight. So normally I have to add an additional gear reduction to compensate the first one. Don't you have similar problems with this steering layout?

yes, there is a little displacement, but because this Mog is not really fast, i see no problem in it.

Despite that I'm no fan of pink colors, I admit that this is finally proper portal axle solution.
