Wedge09 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Hi, all; in this period of low inspiration I take the time to finish this: Albion's Hash House. In the capital city of Avalonia, Albion, there is an Hash House where travellers can find something to eat fast and cheap. Before you ask, the first floor's interior isn't furnished so I didn't photgraped it. As a part of The University of Petraea's Doctorate of Historica Program, I'd like to claim 1 credit for city scene and 1 for life in Avalonia. C&C are as usual welcome, Enjoy! Quote
Gunman Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Nice clean lines at the outer side of the building... Coolio! Also the vegetation at the walls is cool! Quote
de Gothia Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 I like the fact that you have looked at plot 6 and saw where it was located and how narrow the plot was. The wall and the little base are great details that really adds a lot I think! I like the windows with brown tiles beneath(have to try that) and the small details you have everywhere! =) The tudor is looking great but perhaps add a rd brown plate layer around the house under the windows. Hope you get what I mean! =) Quote
Wat Tambor Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 What a nice house this is! I really like everything about this creation! The house itselfs is quite nice, great to see that it is furnished, the half timbered building construction is also great to look at. Quote
emilstorm Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 I really like the roof and the fence (the rest is great too ). And lots of nice little details in the yard, good work! Quote
Gideon Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Very nice house! I like how it sits "in the shadow of the wall" UoP +1 for city scene and life in Avalonia. Quote
Scaevola Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Nice work here, I like the stone wall (especially the foliage). Nice usage of those shutters as well. +1 UoP DoH for all claims Quote
Thomas of Tortuga Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Nice work! I like the half-timbered construction, as well as the garden outside. +1 on both claims. Quote
HammerBro Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Great build! I really like the style of both the front gate and the roof. Quote
janatale Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Looks great! I really like the wooden gate/fence. Great technique Quote
soccerkid6 Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I think this is my favorite build from you yet, Wedge. The wall looks great, I like the buttresses and vines it has. The house is superb: nice and clean, and it captures the look of a medieval building perfectly The amount of details outside the building show how much thought went into the scene, I especially like the little coop nestled between buttresses, the chickens, and the firewood pile. And of course I always enjoy seeing a good interior Quote
mechamike Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 (edited) Yes , very nice build and lots of nice details, like the mentioned firewood pile above.. I do feel that it would have been nice if the wall had been just a tad higher and also a bit thicker to really give the moc that extra "in the shadow of the wall" feeling. If that was what You were aiming for. Edited May 20, 2014 by mechamike Quote
Kai NRG Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Very nice little house here Wedge, I especially like that you did an interior. +1 for both those credits from me! Quote
Gabe Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Lovely. A well thought build with lots of detail. The interior is great! I agree with deGothia that windowsills for the upstairs windows would look good though. On another note, i applaud you managing to keep building through your period of low inspiration - i know it can be a struggle at times! Quote
Wedge09 Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 Thanks a lot all for the nice comments and the critcs Quote
StickFig Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Looks great - not much to add, but I want to point out the railing on your outdoor stairway - excellent. I'll have to remember that technique for the future. Quote
